Responsibilities
The Securities Trader role is responsible for all aspects of trading in Old National Wealth Management investment portfolios. There are multiple trading positions divided between Stocks/Equity, Municipal Bonds, and Government and Corporate securities. All traders work closely with Portfolio Managers, Wealth Advisors, and certain customers by providing guidance and expertise within the Fixed Income and Equity markets.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $62,300 - $122,400 per year plus bonus. The base salary indicated for this position reflects the compensation range applicable to all levels of the role across the United States. Actual salary offers within this range may vary based on a number of factors, including the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant skills and professional experience, educational qualifications, and geographic location.
Key Accountabilities
Trade Evaluation and Execution:
- Provide accurate and efficient execution of trades
- Possess the skills to evaluate fixed income securities and their suitability for individual portfolios, including the ability to leverage trading relationships to assist Portfolio Managers and Wealth Advisors in managing the assets of the firm.
- Provide support to Portfolio Managers and Wealth Advisors by assisting with planning changes to client portfolios based on currents needs and/or market conditions.
Skills, Research, and Account Responsibilities:
- Develop a broad understanding of the trading function with a solid awareness of the types of trades within each security type and the ability to understand financial data.
- Maintain a proficient knowledge of the technology utilized for trading and account management
- Participate as a contributing member of the fixed income research and strategy team.
- Manage accounts that require singular security types while maintaining an understanding of the account strategy.
Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
- Demonstrate the ability for critical thinking and problem solving along with the ability to multi-task
- Respond intuitively to resolving trading issues and settlement problems by using skills obtained through experience
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field
- 1 to 3 years of related securities or fixed income trading experience (Job level will depend on experience level. Security Trader I requires less than 1 year experience; Security Trader II requires 1-3 years of related experience.)
- Technology experience:
- Proficiency with Bloomberg is required
- Proficiency with Excel is required
- Possess strong organization skills with a proficiency for attention to detail
