We are seeking a Secure Systems Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will be expected to lead the architecture, strategy, and technology roadmaps for next-generation of security enabled systems. This role is responsible for defining secure system architectures, guiding secure design practices, evaluating emerging, integrating AI/ML enabled security capabilities, and ensuring solutions align with customer mission requirements, certification expectations, and long-term product strategy.
The ideal candidate has deep experience with high-assurance embedded systems, secure hardware design, NSA certification processes, cryptographic product development, and modular low-SWaP architectures. This individual will work across engineering, business development, program leadership, customers, certification authorities, and external technology partners to shape secure system solutions from early concept through implementation.
What You Will Do
• Define and own secure system architectures for next-generation high-assurance embedded and stand-alone systems
• Lead secure circuitry and system architecture practices, including isolation, key protection, and boundary definition
• Design and oversee modular, scalable, low-SWaP solutions that meet mission, operational, environmental, and security needs
• Translate customer and mission requirements into practical system, hardware, firmware, software, and security architectures
• Provide technical leadership for certification, high-assurance evaluation, and related government approval processes
• Identify certification-sensitive design decisions early and drive architecture choices that reduce approval risk
• Own and manage technology roadmaps for secure systems, cryptographic architectures, AI/ML-enabled capabilities, and next-generation embedded security
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI/ML, edge processing, secure processors, FPGAs, MPSoCs, cryptographic components, and hardware roots of trust
• Assess AI/ML technologies for mission value, implementation risk, data security, model trustworthiness, certification impact, and operational suitability
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, certification stakeholders, business development, and external partners to shape product strategies
• Lead architecture reviews, design trades, implementation oversight, and technical risk mitigation across the product lifecycle
• Lead training and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance the organization’s understanding of secure architecture principles and the integration of advanced and AI/ML technologies
Qualifications You Must Have
• 10 years experience with Type 1, CCI, COMSEC, TRANSEC, or other high-assurance secure communication architectures and environments
• Strong understanding of cryptographic algorithms, secure key storage, FPGA/SoC security features, MPSoC architectures, and hardware root-of-trust approaches
• Proven experience with low-SWaP embedded architectures for aerospace, defense, tactical communications, avionics, or ruggedized military systems
• Experience developing modular product-line architectures with reusable security functions and scalable implementation paths
• Experience supporting customer technical interchange meetings, certification reviews, design reviews, and proposal activities
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer
• Experience with high-assurance embedded systems and their certification process and strategy
• Strong ability to decompose complex mission and security requirements into clear architectural constructs
• Familiarity with modern SoC and FPGA architectures and design practices
• Experience in integrating or developing AI/ML solutions within secure frameworks
What We Offer
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
