Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Section Manager, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Sustainability & Project Support to lead enterprise sustainability efforts while embedding a zero-harm culture across complex utility projects. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping sustainability strategy, advancing EHS integration in engineering and construction, and driving measurable improvements in safety, environmental performance, and operational excellence.

This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead the Company's environmental sustainability strategy, driving execution through cross-functional partnerships and enterprise-wide programs, including development of sustainability trainings, workshops, employee working groups and sustainability programs and events.
  • Establish data governance, baselines, and KPI frameworks to track performance and achieve sustainability targets.
  • Ensure effective integration of EHS and sustainability requirements across capital projects, from planning through construction.
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to embed EHS considerations into design and proactively mitigate risk.
  • Lead and develop a team providing EHS support to engineering and project organizations.
  • Advance EHS Design Review and Sustainability-by-Design processes to strengthen project outcomes and consistency.
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, ensuring safe work practices and environmental protection.
  • Analyze project performance and incident trends to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Champion a zero-harm, sustainability-focused culture through leadership, communication, and employee engagement.
  • Lead cross-functional committees and initiatives to enhance EHS programs, policies, and training effectiveness.


Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience or
  • Master's Degree and a minimum of 6 years relevant work experience
Relevant Work Experience
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments with changing priorities while meeting deadlines, required.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in project management, required.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in engineering, operations, project support or sustainability, preferred.
  • 2 years' experience leading and motivating teams, with direct reports, preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years experience in environment, health and safety or related field, preferred.
