This is an opportunity to join a team at a pivotal moment - one where your analysis, insight, and leadership can directly influence how Raytheon understands missions, builds capability roadmaps, and supports the warfighter. The team emphasizes collaboration, technical rigor, and mission-first thinking. You will be part of a high-impact organization gaining visibility, integration, and enterprise-wide influence as Raytheon strengthens its commitment to Mission Engineering, Modeling & Simulation, and Operations Analysis.

We are looking for a Section Leader for the Senior Staff Section in the CONOPS Analysis, Visualization and Mission Planning Department. The applicant for this position would have team leadership responsibilities above the typical normal technical work. This Department's goal is to assist in developing system Concept of Operation from mission planning to weapon employment, support, drive, and enable key business captures/current programs, special projects, and corporation-wide business opportunities. Section Leaders provide guidance and management to a team of approximately 10 Engineers. The section leader's responsibilities do not cover a full work week. The candidate selected for this role will build and execute their own portfolio of technical work that will cover most of their work week hours. This position is onsite in Tucson, AZ.

What You Will Do
  • Lead a team of senior engineers and staff members
  • Execute your own portfolio of project work for programs, Captures and IRADs
  • Provide guidance, direction, mentoring and influencing skills along with fostering teamwork, interdependent execution, and growth for approximately 8 -10 Engineers
  • Participate in talent acquisition, goal setting, performance development, and appraisal for your team
  • Ensure each direct report has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and career advancement
  • Execute direct line management activities for the team, including performance development and appraisal (including salary planning), career development, staffing allocation, and ensuring adherence to company policies and administrative requirements.
  • Collaborate with Capture Teams, Technology Directors, Mission Areas, Engineering and Business Development leaders to improve proposal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the other Department and Section Leaders in ME to support overall system-of-system product lifecycles
  • Travel will be required - anticipated 10% domestic, more frequent between various sites in Tucson.

What You Will Learn
  • How Mission Engineering contributes to developing and understanding mission threads.
  • How functional management builds strong teams that support programs, pursuits, and IRADs.
  • How to manage teams, plan for training, execute budgets, conduct performance discussions, and promote team member career development.

Qualifications You Must Have
