Job Description

The English Language Arts Teacher will create a supportive learning environment in which you will help your students meet their learning goals through CCSS. Through interesting and diverse methods, you'll teach them the important aspects of the content while using a real-world lens, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. You'll oversee their progress by tracking their assignment and exams to provide useful feedback. WCPA teachers are results-driven educators with experience in and commitment to standards-based curriculum and the use of data and assessments to drive instructional decisions.

Qualifications

Skills and Traits:
  • Demonstrates mastery of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials for courses taught
  • Participates in the development and teaching of cross-curriculum projects that incorporate technology and/or digital arts into all subject areas
  • Creates lesson plans aligned with CCSS and departmental standards
  • Familiarity with growth mindset, project/inquiry-based learning, core competencies, and authentic assessment
  • Proven record of developing clear and highly organized year-long curriculum maps, units, and lesson plans tied to goals/objectives and student expectations
  • Maintains a safe, organized classroom that supports students' independent learning, collaboration, and choice
  • Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques

Pay Range: $68,969.96 - $113,824.10. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
