Job Summary:

The Office of Admissions is seeking an Seattle Regional Admissions Advisor. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position. This position is located in Seattle, Washington.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent OSU and OSU-Cascades at off-campus recruitment events for prospective students.
• Advise and counsel prospective students on the application process and policies.
• Read and provide recommendations on admissions applications.
• Manage recruitment strategy plans for assigned territories.
• Plan receptions for prospective and accepted students.

This position is responsible for the planning and execution of undergraduate recruitment in Washington. The regional admissions advisor is based in an assigned area and will work out of their home to support the undergraduate recruitment plan. This position requires one to work independently out of their home and in high schools and other venues regularly, make decisions, and manage their territory as needed and assigned. Developing plans, maintaining a budget, planning events, communicating with students, families, counselors, colleagues, and their supervisor regularly, and developing and scheduling their recruitment plan will be executed regularly are essential functions for this position.

This position will serve prospective high school and transfer students, families, schools, and community organizations. It will generate tuition revenue and affect enrollment for OSU by recruiting qualified students. Additionally, it will promote academic programs and student services and meet university goals and support the strategic plan. The person must be able and willing to independently travel for extended periods and work during irregular hours extensively, including late nights, early mornings, evenings, and weekends. They must be able and willing to manage frequent travel and fatigue related stress.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited not-for-profit college or university in discipline of choice.
• 1 year or more of professional work experience in undergraduate admissions at a regionally accredited 4-year not-for-profit college or university, noting that student, part-time, graduate student or for-profit work experience does not qualify towards that minimum required experience.
• Demonstrable experience in professional roles that involve extensive public speaking to diverse audiences and extensive public contact.
• Candidate must have technological experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
• Experience developing and organizing large programs and large events from start to finish.
• Must be able and willing to travel for extended periods and work irregular hours extensively, including late nights, early mornings, evenings, and weekends, for a minimum of seventeen weeks per year.
• Demonstrable experience in creating and conducting presentations.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate successfully and inclusively, both in writing and verbally, with a diverse audience.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to drive and travel in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to fly on a commercial aircraft.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Progressively responsible and varied undergraduate admissions work experience at a large-sized and regionally accredited 4-year not-for-profit college or university strongly preferred.
• Involvement in NACAC, HACAC, PNACAC, WACAC, RMACAC and/or other ACAC organizations or regional admissions network (i.e., ARROW) strongly preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of the state of Washington demographics, territory management, and public and private high schools.
• Experience and familiarity with utilizing social media applications, databases, and other student recruitment tools.
• Previous experience using a CRM (Slate preferred).
• Progress towards or completion of a Master's degree in College Student Services Administration, Higher Education, Business/Marketing, or closely related field.
• Resides within or near King County in the state of Washington.

Working Conditions/Schedule:
This position is required to be based out of the individual's home who must reside in the state of Washington (King County preferred) and within specified boundaries and city limits as required and approved by the Associate Director of Recruitment.
• Estimated 17 weeks of travel per year
• Frequent night and weekend work.
• Frequent travel via car and plane.
• Constant work in high schools, community colleges and event locations.
• Flexibility and ability to be productive in various locations a must.

Salary Range:

$80,168.40 - $91,468
