Job Summary
The SDET (Test Lead) will design, develop, execute, and maintain automated testing solutions across UI and API layers. The role will focus on building scalable test automation frameworks, validating front-end and back-end distributed services, integrating automated testing with CI/CD pipelines, and supporting end-to-end quality initiatives. The position will collaborate with engineers, business analysts, subject matter experts, and other teams within an Agile environment to improve testing quality, efficiency, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain software to test applications and products.
• Define automation strategies, automation cases, and tools for unit, functional, and performance testing.
• Build and maintain test automation frameworks using modular architectures and design patterns such as Page Object Model (POM).
• Develop automated UI and API tests using Java, JavaScript, C#, Python, and open-source testing libraries.
• Automate backend REST services using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Karate, Cypress, and ReadyAPI.
• Test APIs and microservices across distributed application environments.
• Integrate automated tests and infrastructure automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Create and maintain automated test jobs using Jenkins and other continuous integration tools.
• Generate test execution reports using tools such as Cucumber reports and Extent Reports.
• Participate in design and code inspections.
• Identify defects across production-level code, components, and feature integrations.
• Work across front-end UI applications and back-end distributed web services.
• Own the design and implementation of tests supporting end-to-end quality for major deliverables.
• Collaborate with multiple engineers and teams to execute end-to-end testing activities.
• Propose improvements to existing processes and develop automated tools, libraries, and utilities to improve team speed, quality, and efficiency.
• Contribute to Agile development teams following 12-Factor application development principles.
• Collaborate effectively with team members, business analysts, subject matter experts, and customers.
• Adapt quickly to new tools and evolving technologies while maintaining a focus on quality, safety, security, and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
• 2-3 years of experience in Information Technology with expertise in application test automation across UI and API layers.
• Hands-on experience writing and maintaining automated UI and API tests using Java, JavaScript, C#, Python, and open-source testing libraries such as Selenium, Cypress, and REST Assured.
• Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java and C# and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Shell, or Bash.
• Experience with API and microservices testing and automation.
• Knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) using frameworks such as Cucumber or JBehave.
• Experience with SQL and querying relational or NoSQL databases such as Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra, or MongoDB.
• Experience deploying applications in AWS or OpenShift/Kubernetes environments.
• Hands-on experience building test automation frameworks using modular frameworks and design patterns such as Page Object Model.
• Experience working in distributed Agile teams using frameworks such as Scrum, SAFe, or XP.
• Hands-on experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI.
• Experience creating and maintaining automated test jobs using Jenkins.
• Experience with source code management tools such as GitLab, GitHub, or AWS CodeCommit.
• Experience creating test reports from automated test runs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to clearly communicate with peers, business analysts, and subject matter experts.
• Ability to listen to customers and colleagues, convey ideas effectively, and prepare technical documentation.

• Knowledge and experience in the travel industry.
• Experience with infrastructure automation using Docker, Chef, Puppet, or Terraform.
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, AWS CodePipeline, and CloudFormation.
• Experience virtualizing services for test automation using tools such as WireMock and Mockito.
• Experience with test management and Agile management tools such as VersionOne and qTest.
• Experience with container orchestration and deployment technologies such as Docker, Red Hat OpenShift, and AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience with non-functional testing, including performance, load, stress, security, accessibility, and usability testing.
