Job Summary

The Scrum Master at SHI International coaches Scrum teams to enhance their understanding and application of Agile principles, facilitating Scrum events to boost productivity and learning. This role involves collaborating with Product Owners to maintain the product backlog, mentoring development teams for self-organization, managing dependencies across teams, and assisting in Sprint commitments and risk management. The Scrum Master is accountable for tracking team progress and improving quality and outcomes.

Role Description
  • Serve as a coach for Scrum teams, enhancing their understanding and application of Scrum concepts and principles.
  • Ensure teams effectively implement Agile values and principles to achieve Sprint goals.
  • Organize and facilitate Scrum events to maximize team productivity and learning.
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement and learning.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to maintain the product backlog, balancing short-term and long-term benefits.
  • Mentor development teams to become self-organized and efficient.
  • Manage dependencies and streamline processes across teams.
  • Assist teams in Sprint commitments, managing risks, and resolving impediments.

  • The ability to effectively utilize applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to enhance productivity and perform various tasks efficiently - Intermediate
  • In-depth understanding of the structured practices and workflows involved in the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering and coding to testing and deployment - Intermediate


Other Requirements
  • Completed Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or relevant work experience required
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Scrum environment
  • 3-5 years of experience with Agile methodologies
  • Advanced certification such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) required
  • Advanced certification such as the following preferred:
    • Advance Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM)
    • Professional Scrum Master (PSM II)
    • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)


The estimated annual pay range for this position is $90,000 - $130,000 which includes a base salary. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
