Product Management
This is a full-time Scrum Master position located in Provo, Utah. Aptive's Technology organization builds the platform behind 76 markets and thousands of field technicians — service scheduling, billing and payments, customer experience, and the data that drives it all. As we've grown, our engineering teams need more consistent delivery rhythm than any one manager can maintain alone. You'll be the person who provides it. Working alongside our engineering managers, you'll run the ceremonies, sharpen the planning, and clear the obstacles that keep sprints from finishing. This is a hands-on facilitation role for someone who gets satisfaction from teams shipping predictably.
What we offer:
- $130k Salary
- Annual Merit bonus up to 10%
- Group Health, Dental, and Vision plans
- Pet insurance, Life insurance, and EAP benefits
- 401K with employer match up to 4%
- Paid holidays and paid time off
- Opportunity for advancement
- Upbeat and exciting company culture and much more!
Responsibilities:
- Sprint planning support across multiple engineering teams — partnering with engineering managers to size work realistically, surface dependencies early, and keep sprint scope honest
- Facilitating the core ceremonies: planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives that produce actual changes rather than a list
- Impediment removal — tracking blockers to resolution and escalating the ones that need a decision from someone more senior
- Delivery visibility: velocity, cycle time, carryover, and sprint predictability, reported in a form engineering managers and leadership both trust
- Cross-team coordination where work spans teams, so dependencies are negotiated before they become slips
- Agile coaching for engineers, managers, and product partners — raising the floor on practice without turning process into ceremony for its own sake
- Continuous improvement of how we plan and deliver, adapting the process to the teams rather than the reverse
What the first 90 days look like
- Days 1–30: Observe current ceremonies across teams. Document how each one actually plans today and where sprints break down
- Days 30–60: Establish consistent ceremony cadence and a shared definition of done. Begin reporting delivery metrics
- Days 60–90: Deliver a clear read on sprint predictability, with specific recommendations for the two or three changes that would most improve it
Requirements:
- 3+ years as a Scrum Master, agile coach, or delivery lead supporting software engineering teams
- Direct experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies for multiple teams at once
- Fluency with Jira or a comparable tool, including building reports leadership will read
- The ability to influence without authority — you'll guide engineering managers who don't report to you
- Comfort pushing back when a sprint is overcommitted, and doing it in a way that lands
- Strong written communication, since much of the coordination happens asynchronously
Nice to have:
- CSM, PSM, or equivalent certification
- Experience in field service, logistics, or route-based operations
- Exposure to Kanban and scaled frameworks, plus the judgment to use them selectively
- Background working with teams on payments, billing, or data platform work
