Full Job Description
AnaVation is seeking a Scrum Master to join our team and support our mission critical Government customer in Hanover, MD. The Scrum Master facilitates SAFe delivery practices for cross-functional operations and engineering teams supporting software development, enhancements, and Tier 3 help desk operations in a large-scale, multi-tenant enterprise environment. The role is a servant leader and agile coach who guides the team in delivering maximum business value within the Scaled Agile Framework. The ideal candidate will be successful at removing complex roadblocks and issues while facilitating team-level execution, and managing dependencies and risks during PI planning, while remaining aligned with enterprise goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate SAFe Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives, and PI Planning.
  • Coordinate work across operations, engineering, and support teams.
  • Track and help resolve risks, dependencies, and impediments.
  • Support backlog management, sprint execution, and operational improvements.
  • Communicate delivery status, metrics, and risks to stakeholders.
  • Promote Agile best practices and continuous improvement.


Required Qualifications:

Clearance: Top Secret Clearance

Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience as a Scrum Master

Certifications: IAT II (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent)

Experience and knowledge on:
  • 1+ year of experience supporting IT operations, service desk, Agile software development, or technology implementation projects.
  • Experience working with Agile or SAFe Agile teams in a technical or operational environment.
  • Familiarity with Scrum principles, Agile methodologies, ITSM processes, and team-based delivery practices.
  • Experience supporting backlog management, sprint planning, or Agile team coordination activities.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and support team delivery objectives.
  • Experience supporting Federal Government or Department of Defense (DoD) environments.

Desirable Qualifications (Education/Certificates, Experience, Physical, etc.):

Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI

Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience as a Scrum Master

Certifications: IAT II (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent and/or SAFe Agile

Experience and knowledge on:
  • 6+ years of experience as a Scrum Master supporting IT operations, ServiceNow, or engineering teams.
  • Experience working in SAFe Agile environments, including PI Planning and cross-team coordination.
  • Experience supporting ServiceNow or other ITSM-based operational environments.
  • Experience supporting software development, enhancements, data integration, or operational improvement initiatives.
