Job DescriptionScientist - RNA Sequencing / ddPCRPosition:
Shift: Full-Time; Monday - Friday; 8am-5pm EST
ONSITE: This is a fully onsite role based at our customer's site in
(insert location - i.e. Boston, MA). We welcome applicants from all locations within the US. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this position, and any relocation costs will be the responsibility of the candidate.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.
Key responsibilities:- Independently design, execute, troubleshoot, optimize, and interpret analytical method development experiments using digital PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, bulk RNA sequencing
- NanoString nCounter, Oxford Nanopore sequencing NICE TO HAVE
- Perform DNA/RNA extraction, sequencing library preparation, sequencer operation, digital PCR workflows, and other associated laboratory procedures with a high standard of technical rigor.
- Design and conduct experiments to evaluate assay performance characteristics, including accuracy, precision, linearity, sensitivity, and technology comparisons.
- Analyze and interpret data using R, GraphPad Prism, JMP, and related bioinformatics tools to support assay development, process characterization, and technology evaluation.
- Organize, analyze, and summarize data for project updates, technical reports, study summaries, and internal presentations.
- Author and review protocols, SOPs, technical reports, study documentation, and regulatory support documents.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with partners in analytical development, process development, research, and other teams to support analytical strategy and project goals.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation, including NextSeq 2000, NovaSeq X, PromethION 24, NanoString nCounter Prep Station/Digital Analyzer, and digital PCR platforms.
- Maintain laboratory organization, instrument readiness, reagent inventory, and compliance with documentation and laboratory best practices.
Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Science, Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology or similar
- Scientist: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years')
- OR Masters degree
In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Digital PCR (ddPCR, dPCR)
- qPCR
- NanoString nCounter (NICE TO HAVE)
- Bulk RNA-sequencing library preparation and sequencing
- DNA/RNA extraction
- Oxford Nanopore library preparation and sequencing workflows
- Statistical analysis and data visualization using R, GraphPad Prism, JMP, and Microsoft Excel
- Differential gene expression analysis using DESeq2
- Pathway enrichment analysis using GSEA and Gene Ontology
- Sequencing data quality control, interpretation, and reporting
- Analysis of digital PCR and sequencing datasets to support method development and process characterization
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

Compensation and BenefitsThe hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $35.00-$43.00.
