ABOUT THE ROLESeneca's School Partnership Programs is hiring a
School Therapist - Floater to help students thrive within the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD). As an integral member of the school community, you will provide healing-centered individual and family therapy, case management services, mental health assessments, and Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) to students receiving Special Education support. As a floater therapist, you will support multiple SFUSD school sites across San Francisco, requiring reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout the city. This role serves a diverse caseload of youth ages
5-18 and offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with caregivers, teachers, counselors, and school leadership to promote student well-being and academic success.
ABOUT THE UE WEST BAY PROGRAM Seneca's
Unconditional Education West Bay Program partners with 8+ schools in San Francisco Unified School District and Public Charter Schools to implement elements of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).Our team is comprised of School Climate Specialists, School-Based Therapists, and Student Support Assistants. Our staff implement strategies that range from creating, implementing and monitoring trauma-informed school-wide systems to individualized therapy and targeted behavioral support for students with the highest levels of need. Responsibilities- Work collaboratively within a transdisciplinary team, including teachers, counselors, specialists, and program leadership
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy, as well as case management for a caseload of school-referred students
- Engage caregivers and school staff in the treatment process with regular discussions on student progress and needs
- Provide crisis intervention, including risk screening, assessment, triage, and service linkage
- Provide consultation and/or coaching to school staff around student needs and risk management rooted in a healing centered approach
- Complete required data collection and service documentation to measure the effectiveness of services, inform team decision making, and/or engage in service billing
- Communicate effectively with families and all others involved in the daily life of the student, including other Seneca programs or outside agencies
- Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's crisis response training
- This may include intervening with the students' behavioral program through physical management
Qualifications- Education/Experience requirements:
- Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, professional clinical counseling, or psychology
- Registered or eligible to register with the California BBS required
- Experience working with youth in a mental health or education setting is preferred
- Own vehicle, valid driver's license, clean driving record required
- TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
Schedule- School based schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
- 5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and 14 paid school break days
Benefits- Starting at $78,666 - $92,666 per year
- Actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications
