Position Reports to: School Director
Start DateHours: 7:30am-4:45pm + some out of school time responsibilities
Compensation: $75,000-$100,000 (Please note that this is a general range; salaries are determined based on credentials and years of experience)
Key Responsibilities: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our team and play a critical role in fostering students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with students, families, educators, and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with students and their families to promote overall student well-being and success.
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments, including evaluations of cognitive functioning, academic achievement, and other relevant areas to inform educational planning.
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and progress monitoring to support students with emotional, behavioral, or social needs, in collaboration with teachers, families, and related service providers; regularly conduct progress monitoring to evaluate effectiveness and adjust interventions as needed
- Serve as an important part of the Response to Intervention (RtI) Team
- Deliver individual and group counseling services aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and identified emotional or behavioral needs.
- Provide training and ongoing support to paraprofessionals to ensure effective implementation of behavioral and academic interventions.
- Assist in responding to school-based crises by offering immediate support and contributing to crisis management planning.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary school-based support teams and utilize teacher consultations to review scholar progress and recommend appropriate interventions and services.
- Diligently work to align social, emotional, and behavioral supports with school mission
Qualifications:
- NYS certification as a School Psychologist
- Experience working in schools
- Alignment to Classical Charter Schools' mission and approach
- A demonstrated track record of meeting the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students in a diverse, low-income community.
- A strong knowledge of evidence-based practices, data collection, and Response to Intervention.
