Full Job Description
As a Scheduling Analyst, you will oversee and lead the scheduling practice across capital portfolios, projects within Project Controls. You will apply scheduling expertise, project management insight, and data-driven planning practices to support Project Managers and Leaders in developing, maintaining, and optimizing reliable project schedules that enable informed decision-making, enhance performance visibility, and support successful asset delivery. Primary duties include:
• Create and maintain capital design and construction portfolio schedules, Work Breakdown Structures, analyze schedule issues, dependencies, and variances using Microsoft Projects and P6.
• Provide support and directions for project teams and management in reviewing and analyzing portfolio schedules, implement schedule delay mitigation responses for critical activities.
• Report on schedule progress, issues, and risks, recommending corrective actions.
• Participate in ongoing integrated portfolio schedule review meetings, including regular analysis of variances and key performance indicators with the Project Managers and Leadership Team.
• Create detailed project schedules, including activities, milestones, approvals, resources, procurement items and other critical deliverables required to be scheduled and tracked.
• Develop schedule logic, constraints, and activity durations in cooperation with project teams.
• Support and train Project Controls members in setting up and updating project schedules and Work Breakdown Structures, creating baseline schedules, reviewing entered schedule dependencies.
• Assist in the development and implementation of project controls processes and practices.
• Validate schedule integrity and structure to support realistic sequencing and reliable delivery timelines for operational decision-making.
• Consolidate and visualize large and complex data sets to provide business intelligence for analysis and recommendations.
Qualifications
• A degree and at least 5 years of project scheduling experience.
• A proven track record of schedule development, schedule control, and schedule analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Projects, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
• Preference will be given to applicants with the following:
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Power BI.
• Experience with a risk analysis software.
• Knowledge of applicable Project Management Institute (PMI) and American Association of Cost Engineers (AACE) standards and procedures for project controls.
• Project management certification such as a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Scheduling Professionals (PMI-SP), or Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP).
• Success in this position requires a demonstrated high attention to detail, the ability to work effectively both independently and within a multi-disciplinary team, and excellent collaboration, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
