Full Job Description
About the Role

The Account Management team at Magma Math ensures that every district we work with sees real, lasting impact and grows with us over time. Retaining and deepening our relationships with existing customers is core to that mission, and this role owns it. In this context, 'scaled' reflects the nature of the portfolio: a high volume of smaller district and school partnerships that you'll manage through smart systems and consistent cadences.

We're looking for an organized, relationship-driven Scaled Account Manager whose primary focus is retention -- keeping every district in their portfolio healthy, engaged, and renewed -- and who brings the organization and proactivity to do that at scale. You'll manage a high-volume portfolio of district and school partnerships through annual business reviews, proactive health monitoring, and consistent outreach cadences that keep relationships warm year-round.

You'll be supported by District Success Managers and marketing, but the expectation is that you own your book of business with full accountability. You will report to the Head of Account Management, and you will manage a portfolio of approximately 150 districts.

Responsibilities
• Own retention and the full post-sale lifecycle for a portfolio of districts -- renewals are your north star, supported by onboarding handoffs, business reviews, and expansion conversations.
• Own your book of business, which includes proactively monitoring account health, usage data, and engagement signals to identify at-risk districts and intervene early with targeted support.
• Conduct annual business reviews that tie platform usage to student outcomes, funding priorities, and district goals, making renewal and expansion a natural next step.
• Maintain regular touchpoints through email cadences and check-in calls that reinforce value and keep Magma embedded in district workflows.
• Build relationships across district stakeholders -- superintendents, curriculum directors, math coaches, and building-level principals -- to ensure Magma Math is embedded in their long-term instructional strategy.
• Identify natural expansion opportunities within your portfolio and surface them at the right moment -- a new school, a grade-level expansion, or a new use case.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with District Success Managers, Sales, Marketing, and Product to share customer insights, flag churn risks, and inform roadmap priorities.
• Maintain accurate records in HubSpot: renewal pipeline, deal health, and next steps for every account in your portfolio.

How to Be Successful
• Know your renewal pipeline cold: dates, ARR at risk, health status, and a clear plan for every account renewing in the next 3-6 months.
• Build outreach between annual reviews that feels personal and keeps relationships warm year-round.
• Act proactively: surface risks before they become churn, and identify growth opportunities before your customers think to ask.
• Be coachable, curious, and always looking to deepen your understanding of how districts make decisions, allocate funding, and measure success.

You Might Be A Great Fit If:
• You're energized by protecting and growing an existing book of business, and understand that retention requires just as much skill and hustle as winning new logos.
• You have 1-3 years of experience in account management, customer success, or a post-sale role -- ideally in EdTech or education.
• You're organized and process-driven. Managing a large pipeline comes naturally to you and nothing slips through the cracks.
• You're comfortable holding commercial conversations and can confidently lead conversations about contract value, expansion pricing, or renewal terms.

You're excited to grow with a mission-driven team focused on student outcomes.
