SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician V to join our team in providing advanced technical expertise for the overhaul and repair of US Navy SPS-67(V)3 radar antennas. This position requires an experienced technician with in-depth knowledge of radar systems, particularly the SPS-67(V)3, and the ability to perform complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs to restore operational capability.

In this role, you will work closely with engineering teams, technical leads, and program management to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions. You will perform inspections, testing, calibration, preventive maintenance, and overhauls to optimize performance, reliability, and operational readiness of radar systems used for naval fleet operations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform troubleshooting, fault isolation, and corrective maintenance on SPS-67(V)3 radar antennas to include mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Conduct comprehensive system overhauls, inspections, and repairs, ensuring compliance with OEM, Navy, and SAIC quality standards.
  • Use advanced test equipment, including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers, to diagnose and test radar subassemblies for optimal performance.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and other related documents to perform diagnostics and repairs.
  • Document all maintenance and repair actions in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Provide engineering feedback on SPS-67(V)3 performance and reliability metrics and supply reports for system analysis and improvement.
  • Collaborate on engineering designs and recommend upgrades or system modifications to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Assist in training less experienced technicians in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance skills for SPS-67(V)3 radar antennas.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with established safety protocols and operational requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 10+ years of relevant experience in radar system repair, maintenance, or related technical field. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Radar Systems Engineering is preferred.
  • Extensive technical experience with SPS-67(V)3 or similar radar antennas, including hands-on repair and overhaul.
  • Deep understanding of RF theory, radar principles, and technical documentation.
  • Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, RF testers, digital multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to read and interpret radar equipment schematic diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of Navy maintenance standards, practices, and MIL-STDs.
  • Ability to obtain full Secret Clearance. (SAIC will sponsor the clearance)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working within a Navy or DoD operational framework, including shipboard radar maintenance.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for creating reports and documentation.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Maximo, or other maintenance management software.
  • Certified or experienced in soldering and electrical assembly (IPC-A-610 or MIL-STD certifications are a plus).
  • Professional experience on other naval or military radar systems is a plus (e.g., AN/SPY-1, AN/SPY-3).
