Summary

This vacancy is for a GS-0101-13, SAPRR Program Coordinator located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Sexual Assault Prevention Response and Recovery Program in Norfolk, VA.

Duties

You will serve as a SAPRR Program Coordinator and be responsible for serving as the Sexual Assault Prevention, Response and Recovery Program Coordinator (SAPRR PC). Assists the WFSC Sexual Assault Prevention, Response and Recovery Service Line Manager (SAPRR SLM) and the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program Manager (SAPRR PM) located in Commandant (CG WFS-3) in implementing the SAPRR Program..

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

  • Providing expert technical guidance and compliance monitoring to Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARC) and Victim Advocate Program Specialist (VAPS).
  • Assessing whether the SAPRR Program meets applicable laws and regulations through thorough quality assurance inspections.
  • Developing written SAPRR technical directives based on the National Defense Authorization Act and other acts for the SAPPR workforce.
  • Primary SAPRR data analyst analyzing sexual assault data.
  • Serving as the convergence point for War Department, Coast Guard, SAPRR.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for Individual Occupational Requirements for Social Science, 0101 positions and Group Coverage Qualifications Standard for Professional and Scientific Positions.

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS.

-OR-Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS.

-OR-Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

  • Entering data, reviewing subordinate data input, creating reports, and providing technical assistance to workforce for DSAID and Catch programs.
  • Translating Congressional, Department of War, and Coast Guard SAPRR mandates into technical directives for the SAPRR workforce.
  • Analyzing workforce training requirements, developing tracking tools to monitor expiring credentials, and development and present training to the workforce or command leadership as needed.
  • Research and theories on best practices for the prevention of sexual assault. Experience in trauma informed response capabilities focusing on safety, trust and empowerment.

Student Loan - Selectee(s) for this position who are newly appointed to a permanent or term position may be eligible for student loan repayment up to $10,000 (pre-tax) for one calendar year.
