Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly experienced SAP Functional Software Engineer (expert in SAP S4 HANA Sales and Distribution (SD) & Vehicle Management System (VMS)) for the Vehicle Invoicing and Drafting Application (VI&D). You must have 10+ years of solid technology experience with demonstrated technical leadership capability. Vehicle Invoicing and Drafting (VI&D) is a Mainframe/COBOL Legacy application which we are modernizing/transitioning to SAP, with the help of a Consulting Firm/System Integrator.

Based in Dearborn, MI, this is a hybrid position with a required four-day onsite presence each week. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...
  • Lead/Guide the SAP Modernization effort of VI&D utilizing your strong expertise in SAP S4 HANA Sales and Distribution (SD) & SAP Vehicle Management System (VMS) with Tax knowledge
  • Lead/Guide the transition to SAP including all of the following: validate the solutioning of the System Integrators (design, build, test, & deployment), navigate the hyper-care phase, and facilitate the long-term support activities including future enhancements and upgrades
  • Easily assimilate into the existing Global Team and will help to shape the modernization efforts of the Application.
  • Maintain accurate systems related documentation and adhere to Systems coding/security standards in accordance with Ford Guidelines/Controls
  • Effectively engage in technical discussions within the Application Team, other iERP PDOs, and with other interfacing Applications.
  • Strong ability to navigate new, complex, and challenging SAP technical situations with creative solutions
  • Ability to bridge Legacy Mainframe Systems with SAP/S4 Hana leading-edge technology
  • Analyze complex problems/gaps and develop/identify the most viable and efficient SAP solutions
  • Superior capability in analyzing complex business requirements, documenting /updating Functional Specs and can easily guide the Technical Teams in SAP Customizations
  • Strong functional experience in supporting SAP upgrades, support, and maintenance of Sales and Distribution (SD) & SAP Vehicle Management System (VMS) modules
  • Superior ability to quickly build relationships with people, including Software Engineers and Product Owners
  • Demonstrated ability to develop technical solutions, lead, and guide small teams through complex technical situations (Solid Technical Leadership abilities)

  • Bachelor of Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Programming or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • 10+ years of IT experience
  • 7+ years of functional experience with SAP/S4 HANA with a keen ability to use SAP SD/Sales & Distribution, Vehicle Management System (VMS), and Invoicing Processes to modernize a complex legacy application in a fast-paced environment, using Agile Methodology
  • 5+ years designing, analyzing requirements, documenting functional specs, integration testing, implementing, trouble-shooting (within SLA Guidelines), and deploying SAP ERP solutions for sales and business transactions using SAP Sales and Distribution/Vehicle Management System (involving Pricing, billing, and Customer Service functions)
  • 5+ years of experience with the Agile Methodology or PDO Framework.

This position is a salary grade 7 or 8 and ranges from $86,600- 166,200.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
