Job DescriptionReporting to the Principal Director, SAP Innovation and IP, the SAP Enterprise Architect defines and safeguards the end-to-end coherence of the SAP landscape and its connections to the broader enterprise technology ecosystem. The role establishes the target state and multi-year roadmap, then governs decisions across programs to protect maintainability, security, and long-term value.
You advise CIOs, executive steering committees, delivery teams, and solution architects. Your contribution is to arbitrate trade-offs among speed, cost, and sustainability, establish integration, data, security, and extensibility standards, and strengthen the practice's architecture capability.
Your mission consists of: - Leadership, vision and initiative
- Define the target architecture and multi-year roadmap for SAP environments, including sequencing, dependencies, and release waves.
- Chair architecture governance and arbitrate decisions where a local need conflicts with the coherence of the broader estate.
- Consultative intelligence
- Advise executives on platform strategy, technical debt, and the architectural implications of acquisitions, divestitures, and carve-outs.
- Present and defend architectures and roadmaps to CIO-level stakeholders.
- Problem solving and analytical thinking
- Set integration, data, security, and extensibility standards, including clean-core principles and exception governance.
- Review and approve solution architectures, integration designs, and extension proposals produced by delivery teams.
- Customer orientation and partnership
- Lead architecture solutioning for pursuits and transformation programs, including the choice among greenfield, brownfield, and selective data transition approaches.
- Knowledge sharing
- Create reference architectures and reusable patterns, assess emerging SAP capabilities, and mentor solution architects toward enterprise architecture capability.

Qualificationsualifications- Experience: At least fifteen (15) years in enterprise technology, including at least six (6) years in an architecture role spanning multiple systems.
- SAP achievements: Ownership of target-state architecture for at least two large SAP estates through a multi-year transformation.
- Technical expertise: At least five (5) years with SAP S/4HANA and governing integration, data, security, and extensibility standards; fluency across cloud, identity, integration, and data platforms.
- Executive leadership: Direct experience presenting and defending decisions to a CIO or executive steering committee.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Conditions: Canada- or U.S.-based remote role with client travel representing approximately 30% to 40% of working time.
- Communication: good oral and written communication skills, in English, to communicate with clients located across North America
Assets- SAP enterprise architecture, TOGAF, SAP LeanIX, cloud architecture, or SAP Activate certification.
- Experience with RISE with SAP, mergers and acquisitions, or assessing SAP AI and agentic capabilities
