Role Overview:We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Consultant to design, develop, enhance, and support custom SAP solutions across multiple SAP modules. This role involves technical analysis, custom development, integration design, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and support for business-critical SAP applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in SAP ABAP development, SAP S/4HANA technical architecture, enhancement frameworks, interfaces, forms, workflows, APIs, and technical problem resolution, collaborating closely with functional and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, enhance, and maintain SAP custom programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
- Design and develop Classical Reports, Interactive Reports, ALV Reports, and custom SAP applications.
- Create and maintain Data Dictionary objects including tables, structures, views, domains, and search helps.
- Develop interfaces using IDocs, ALE, RFC, BAPI, OData Services, APIs, Proxy Framework, and Web Services.
- Build and support SAP Fiori backend services and OData integrations.
- Perform technical analysis of business requirements and translate them into scalable SAP technical solutions.
- Develop and enhance SmartForms, SAP Scripts, Adobe Forms, and output management solutions.
- Implement enhancement techniques including User Exits, Customer Exits, BAdIs, Enhancement Spots, and Implicit/Explicit Enhancements.
- Work on SAP Workflow development and support.
- Perform code optimization and performance tuning using ST05, SAT, SQL Trace, Runtime Analysis, Code Inspector, and related tools.
- Support SAP S/4HANA migration activities including custom code remediation and simplification item impact analysis.
- Participate in technical design workshops and architecture discussions.
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, defect fixing, and deployment support.
- Provide production support, incident resolution, root cause analysis, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Collaborate with functional consultants, BASIS teams, integration teams, and business stakeholders.
- Create technical specifications, design documents, code review records, and technical documentation.
- Follow development standards, transport management processes, and change management procedures.
Required Skills:- SAP ABAP Development: Strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development; Expertise in Reports, Module Pool Programming, Dialog Programming, and Enhancements; Experience with BDC, BAPI, RFC, ALE/IDocs, BAdIs, User Exits, and Enhancement Framework; Strong knowledge of Data Dictionary objects; Experience with Object-Oriented ABAP (OOABAP).
- SAP S/4HANA Technical Skills: Experience with SAP S/4HANA custom development; Knowledge of CDS Views, AMDP, SQL Script, and HANA optimization concepts; Custom code remediation experience for S/4HANA transformation projects; Understanding of Simplification Items and ATC checks.
- Integration Development: Experience developing and troubleshooting inbound and outbound interfaces; Knowledge of REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, OData Services, and integration frameworks; Experience with SAP PI/PO, CPI, MuleSoft, or other middleware platforms.
- Forms and Output Management: Hands-on experience with SmartForms, SAP Scripts, Adobe Forms, and Output Determination.
- Technical Analysis: Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills; Performance tuning experience for custom programs and database-intensive applications; Ability to analyze complex technical issues and recommend practical solutions.
- Tools and Technologies: SAP ECC / SAP S/4HANA; ABAP Workbench (SE80); Eclipse ADT; SAP HANA Studio; SAP GUI; CDS Views; OData Services; SAP Gateway; SAP Fiori; Jira / Azure DevOps / ServiceNow; Git-enabled ABAP (preferred).
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; Ability to work independently as well as within cross-functional teams; Strong documentation and presentation skills; Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; Experience working in Agile and Waterfall delivery models.
Qualifications:- 6 to 15 years of relevant SAP ABAP development experience.
- SAP ABAP or SAP S/4HANA certifications (preferred).
Preferred Skills:- Technical: SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 exposure; SAP BTP ABAP Environment knowledge; Workflow development experience; Knowledge of RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model); Exposure to CAP model and cloud-native SAP development; Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-enabled ABAP development.
- Integrations: Experience with SAP MDG, EWM, TM, GTS, Ariba, SuccessFactors, or IBP integrations.
- Functional Exposure: SAP PM (Plant Maintenance); SAP MM (Materials Management); SAP FI/CO (Finance and Controlling).
