WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are actively looking for a Salesforce Technical Architect who can lead secure, enterprise-scale solution design and guide delivery teams through implementation for an IRS program. You bring strong architectural judgment across data, security, and integrations, and you can translate complex technical decisions into clear direction for both engineers and executive stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning platform modernization and driving quality through practical governance- not just writing diagrams.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Reporting to our Delivery Operations Manager, as a Full-Time Specialist on our team, you will own end-to-end Salesforce solution architecture from design through deployment, shaping scalable data models, secure access patterns, and integration strategies. You'll provide hands-on technical leadership across the SDLC, ensuring delivery teams build in a way that is performant, maintainable, and compliant with IRS security and accessibility expectations. You'll also evaluate new platform features and AppExchange options to modernize legacy capabilities and continuously improve the overall architecture.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active IRS MBI or Public Trust clearance at time of application is required.
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator and Platform Developer I Certifications are required.
  • At least one architect-level Certification is required (e.g., Sharing & Visibility Architect, Data Architect); Application Architect and/or System Architect Certifications are highly preferred.
  • 8+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years architecting solutions on the Salesforce platform
  • Deep expertise across Sales, Service, and Experience Clouds, plus strong working knowledge of Apex, Flow, and LWC.
  • Proven Salesforce integration expertise (REST/SOAP) and common middleware patterns/tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Informatica or similar).
  • Strong DevOps/CI/CD understanding with Salesforce toolchains (e.g., Copado, Gearset, Azure DevOps).
  • Demonstrated ability to design for large data volumes and complex security/sharing models.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead end-to-end solution design, including data models, security architecture, and integration strategy across connected systems.
  • Provide architectural oversight through the full SDLC, including design reviews and code/config reviews to drive scalability and performance.
  • Ensure designs align with IRS-specific security protocols, Section 508 accessibility requirements, and applicable federal data privacy standards.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for IRS stakeholders and executive leadership to support decisions and progress.
  • Establish and reinforce platform governance (standards, patterns, quality gates) to keep delivery consistent and audit-ready.
  • Evaluate new Salesforce releases and AppExchange products to modernize legacy capabilities and drive continuous improvement.
