How will this role impact First Command?

The Salesforce Administrator will assist with the ongoing innovation of First Command's Salesforce platform, which includes Financial, Marketing. Service, and Experience Clouds The successful candidate will have a record of success in improving processes and adoption using the SFDC platform. The administrator will work closely with functional leaders, organizational units, and subject matter experts to identify develop and deploy new business processes as well as enhance core program business processes. The Salesforce Administrator will be responsible for executing on the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance and improvement of our CRM platform.

The Salesforce Administrator will also manage and implement workflows, provide ongoing coaching and support to users (maintaining roles, permissions, securities, etc.), implement customizations/configurations to page layouts, records, and objects, maintain the integrity of all data, and troubleshoot as necessary. The incumbent will also handle release management and continuously educate users on changes and tips to increase usability.

What will the employee do in this role?
  • Serve as a system administrator for the Salesforce.com environment with ~2,500 users
  • Handle all basic administrative functions including user account maintenance, reports and dashboards, workflows and other routine tasks
  • Complete regular internal system audits and prepare for upgrades
  • Coordinate the evaluation, scope and completion of new development requests.
  • Work with other members of the Salesforce Platform teams to establish suitable processes to support administrative, development, and change management activities
  • Collaborate with First Command's training department to grow the Salesforce.com skill set across the organization and to our field users.
  • Actively contributes to the development of solutions and ideas that add value.
  • Actively participate in the planning, prioritization, and execution of features and deliverables within our SAFe environment
  • Work independently to maintain subject matter expertise with each new SFDC release
  • Engages with system users and Software Product Managers to identify system enhancements and/or new applications to meet business needs.
  • Actively contributes to the development of solutions and ideas that add value.
  • Develops elegant and simple solutions.
  • Proactively performs extensive system testing to ensure that the systems work efficiently and are developed following the applicable development methodology.
  • Effectively and actively plays the role of technical advisor for projects, providing advice on tools, process and design to others.
  • Assists in the creation of repeatable and scalable User Acceptance Testing Scenarios to ensure accuracy
  • Ensures project goals make sense and overall development objectives are being met.
  • Research, recommend and implement AppExchange applications for Salesforce to meet business needs.
  • Serves as a resource in the support of more serious production problems/issues.
  • Working closely with business and IT leaders, you'll provide technical solutions (including "out of box solutions) to complex business needs.
  • Assist with building of test plans, scenarios, and scripts to support QA/ UAT efforts.
  • Key player in the Agile environment, participating in daily huddles, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc....
  • Assist with end-user application support including troubleshooting errors while serving as escalation point for support issues
  • Actively plays the role of Release Management (migration, refreshes, version control and deployment)


What skills & qualifications does this employee need?

Education
  • Minimum five years of experience as a SFDC administrator, preferably within the Financial, Marketing, Experience, and/or Service Clouds
  • OR relevant experience

Work Experience
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study, or equivalent experience

Certifications
  • Required: Salesforce Administrator Certification

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Required: Experience with SQL and SOQL to be able to support integrations
  • Ability to work alongside others and be a team player Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce.com and all upstream and downstream applications, systems and processes
  • Proven ability to design and implement new processes and facilitate user adoption.
  • Strong understanding of the platform, with the ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, workflows, custom views, and other content of intermediate complexity
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements
  • Preferred: Previous experience working in a Scaled Agile environment (SAFe)
