Full Job Description
What's the role?

The HERE Business & Solution Architecture team helps customers achieve their business objectives through the use of HERE products and services. As a Strategic Accounts Sales Solution Architect, you will work directly with HERE's largest and most complex customers to understand business and technical requirements, design solutions, validate architectures, and help customers successfully adopt HERE technologies.

You will partner closely with Account Executives, Product Management, Engineering, Professional Services, Customer Success, and customer technical teams throughout the sales cycle. Success in this role requires a strong combination of technical knowledge, customer-facing communication skills, solution design capabilities, and the ability to navigate complex customer environments.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex customer problems, is comfortable operating in ambiguous situations, and approaches customer engagements with curiosity and a partnership mindset. Successful candidates are energized by learning new domains, asking thoughtful questions, and working collaboratively with customers to define the best path forward when requirements, solutions, or outcomes are not always clearly defined.

Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Technical Discovery

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor and collaborative partner during customer engagements, helping customers navigate technical decisions, explore options, and evaluate tradeoffs.
  • Lead technical discovery workshops to understand customer business objectives, solution requirements, operational workflows, and success criteria.
  • Demonstrate curiosity by asking thoughtful questions, challenging assumptions, and helping customers clarify needs that may not yet be fully defined.
  • Identify technical challenges, integration requirements, risks, and dependencies that may impact solution design or delivery.
  • Document customer requirements and translate them into actionable technical recommendations.
  • Collaborate with account teams to understand customer goals and define solutions that address business and technical objectives.

Solution Design & Architecture

  • Design end-to-end solution architectures using HERE APIs, SDKs, platform services, map content, and partner technologies.
  • Create and present architecture diagrams, technical workflows, integration approaches, and solution recommendations.
  • Evaluate multiple solution options and provide guidance on technical tradeoffs and best practices.
  • Support customer architecture reviews and technical decision-making activities.
  • Define implementation assumptions, dependencies, scalability considerations, and operational requirements.
  • Work with Product, Engineering, and Services teams to validate solution feasibility and identify the best path forward for customer use cases.

Technical Validation & Demonstrations

  • Lead product demonstrations, technical workshops, evaluations, and proof-of-concept activities.
  • Develop validation plans that establish clear objectives, success criteria, and measurable outcomes.
  • Work hands-on with customer teams to validate proposed solutions and demonstrate HERE capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during evaluations and coordinate with internal teams to resolve blockers.
  • Produce customer-facing deliverables including architecture documents, validation results, technical recommendations, and implementation guidance.
  • Help customers make informed technical decisions by clearly communicating options, tradeoffs, assumptions, and risks.

Strategic Account Support

  • Support strategic account teams by partnering with customers to understand their business challenges, explore solution options, validate approaches, and make informed technical decisions.
  • Contribute technical insights to account planning activities and customer roadmap discussions.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Professional Services, and Customer Success teams to ensure proposed solutions align with customer goals, business objectives, and technical requirements.
  • Help identify expansion opportunities by understanding customer business priorities and technical needs.
  • Support competitive evaluations by articulating HERE's technical strengths and differentiators.
  • Contribute to technical win strategies by helping customers gain confidence in proposed solutions through discovery, validation, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts.

Risk Identification & Solution Readiness

  • Identify integration, data, performance, security, and operational risks early in the sales process.
  • Validate assumptions and help customers understand implementation considerations before deployment.
  • Document open technical questions, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
  • Support smooth transitions from presales to implementation through clear technical documentation and handoff materials.
  • Help create clear technical decision paths that reduce uncertainty and enable successful customer outcomes.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Represent customer requirements, feedback, and market insights to Product and Engineering teams.
  • Contribute reusable technical assets such as reference architectures, demo content, technical guides, best practices, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Share lessons learned and technical expertise across the organization.
  • Stay current on HERE products, industry trends, cloud technologies, and competitive solutions.
  • Participate in team initiatives that improve technical readiness, customer engagement, and solution delivery.
Who are you?

You are curious, customer-centric, and enjoy solving complex problems. You are comfortable operating in situations where not all the answers are known upfront and can bring structure and clarity to ambiguous challenges.

You enjoy learning new technologies, understanding customer businesses, and exploring multiple approaches to solving a problem. Rather than immediately jumping to an answer, you ask thoughtful questions, seek to understand the broader context, and work collaboratively with customers to identify the best path forward.

You build relationships based on collaboration and trust, working alongside customers to solve problems rather than simply recommending products. You build credibility by listening, communicating openly, and helping customers make informed technical decisions. Whether leading a workshop, designing a solution, or supporting a proof-of-concept, you are focused on achieving successful outcomes together.

You are equally comfortable engaging with developers, architects, product managers, and business stakeholders and can adapt your communication style to meet the needs of your audience.

You thrive in customer-facing environments where every challenge is different, enjoy working across teams, and are motivated by helping customers solve meaningful business problems.

  • Experience leading technical discovery, solution design, evaluations, workshops, or proof-of-concept engagements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Sales, Product, Engineering, Services, and Customer Success organizations.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting complex customer engagements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, GIS, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Familiarity with data architectures, system integrations, and modern application development practices.
  • Programming or scripting experience in JavaScript, Python, Java, or similar languages.
  • Experience creating technical demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, workshops, and customer-facing architecture presentations.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams and stakeholders across multiple functions.

The expected base salary range for this position is $121,000 to $173,000 per year. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as skills and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, which is subject to company and individual performance.
