Position SummaryThe Gearing Sales Leader will be accountable for new business growth and maintenance of existing customers of high-quality gearing solutions for industries. This position will motivate, educate, and lead teams of Regional Sales Managers and Strategic Account Managers to develop comprehensive territory plans segmented by customer, prospect, market, and product line.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities- Coaching, motivation, and management of a direct sales team
- Lead the development and execution of target account pipelines for prospective and current customers, measure wins, losses and capture rates
- Plan and coordinate sales enablement initiatives; development of sales training programs
- Set sales goals and profitability targets and identify the leading metrics to track progress to goals
- Establish sales objectives by creating a sales plan and quotas in support of overall objectives
- Collaborate with other departments, working closely with product and marketing managers to recommend new products, programs, create success cases and duplicate new customer wins, plan and coordinate sales enablement initiatives
- Identify and recommend new product opportunities, and / or product, packaging, and service changes
- Submit regular activity/call reports concerning customer-related activities for quotes, orders, and problems concerning customer/vendor relationships
- Actively engage in the market by participating in key industry associations
- Provide sales forecasting to product management on a monthly / quarterly basis as defined by leadership
Experience and Education Required- Bachelor's degree: MBA preferred and at least ten years' experience in industrial power transmission business
- Demonstrated success motivating and managing direct and indirect sales teams
- Outside sales experience
- Experience managing both OEM and distribution channels
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable, well organized
- Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time
