The company is currently seeking an experienced Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

Position Summary/ Primary Purpose

The Sales Manager serves an interdisciplinary role, bridging gaps between the various teams of different expertise, most notably engineering oriented teams and commercially oriented teams. The Sales Manager is a “business-to-business” sales and engineering professional who manages a team, prospects new business, and cultivates an existing territory of business. The Sales Manager will also direct a sales team in selling Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems and solutions in North America and will be responsible for producing proposals and winning strategies that enable Daifuku to meet annual sales goals. The Sales Manager interfaces with all levels of any organization’s corporate real estate, maintenance, or facility and operational departments. This position reports to the Executive Manager as part of a sales team and contributes to the success of the team, department, and Company.

 

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Work with the sales team to develop a winning sales strategy and allocate resources to put us in a position to succeed.
  • Produce compliant and effective proposals that meet our strategic objectives and deliver best value to our customers utilizing in-house support including Estimating, Application Engineering, Marketing, and technical services.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships. Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales process and continuing through the project lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain sales contacts, research customer needs and develop application of products and services to ensure sales opportunities for products and services. Develop and deliver sales presentations in a professional and effective manner.
  • Participate in sales forecasting and planning to ensure effective market planning and continued revenue stream.
  • Participate in identification of new products, modification of existing products, and termination of ineffective products to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers as defined in the company policy to ensure a positive corporate image, teamwork, and attainment of goals.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Qualifications

Basic Broad Knowledge as Follows

  • English Language — Fluency and knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

  • Computer literate in MS Windows based software to include Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint. Salesforce experience a plus.

  • Ability to recognize the scope and urgency of situations involving work related issues and to formulate plans to resolve these issues.
  • Ability to travel, domestically and internationally, as needed, sometimes up to 25% of the time. Minimal international travel expected.
  • Ability to work over 40 hours and on weekends as needed.

 

Basic Education & Experience

  • BS in Engineering/business, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5 years of experience in industrial application of material handling solutions, preferably AGV systems.
  • Sales experience in capital goods.
  • Proven record of successful interfacing with customers in an engineering or sales environment.

Demonstrated Physical Abilities as Follows: remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence. Visits to customer locations may include negotiating through an industrial facility, which may include but not limited to conveyor systems requiring climbing access ladders, screen guards, and catwalks.
