Sales Manager - Medical (British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan)

About the Role

Essity's Health and Medical Canadian team is looking for an experienced Sales Manager responsible for British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. This position will support a sales team within Acute Care, Home Care and Community Care, for our Medical portfolio of products. This role will work closely with the National Sales Manager to implement business strategies to achieve profitable business relationships and identify new revenue opportunities within accounts.

This will be a remote position responsible for covering British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. The ideal candidate must have the ability to travel often.

What You Will Do
  • Lead, direct and develop the respective sales organization in terms of its structure, people and performance to achieve maximum efficiency & effectiveness (including personal feedback & development). Collaboration with the National Sales Manager to develop and implement strategies
  • Lead the sales team and support the Strategic Account Manager who oversees the Acute and Community team
  • Coach team members on sales techniques, procedures and standards that will help them achieve their sales targets.
  • Translate local business plans into sales plans, activities, and campaigns and manage the day-to-day activities of a sales team (to implement the organization's overall sales strategy) for an assigned geography, channel, and/or customers.
  • Prepare sales forecasts and budgets; monitor sales volume, revenues, and costs against forecasts to identify problem/opportunities areas and adapt procedures.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the sales team to ensure targets are met.
  • Allocate resources according to up-to-date customer categorization to improve the overall performance of the sales team.
  • Negotiate sales with existing and new customers who are of strategic importance to the organization.
  • Contribute to the development of sales, marketing, customer retention, advertising, pricing, and distribution plans/strategies for area of responsibility.
  • Generate knowledge on market development/customer needs and competitor activities and distribute to internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to overall decision making. Develop, implement and monitor customer specific sales plans and marketing programs to meet/exceed sales targets.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners successfully.
  • Represent and grow the Essity business.
  • Frequently analyze customer information to discover and manage business risks and opportunities.


Who You Are
  • University Degree or equivalent experience within healthcare.
  • 5+ years relevant experience in Healthcare Industry: Home Healthcare, Community and Acute Care.
  • 3+ years of management experience.
  • Understanding of government funded channels (Acute, community) and the tender process
  • Understanding of the Home Health/private pay market and key drivers influencing this channel
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong business and financial acumen. Ability to analysis and utilize sales data to drive activities and initiatives within BC, AB and Saskatchewan.
  • The ability to drive a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestic travel.
  • Team player and effective collaboration skills.
  • Experience in coaching and leading of a sales team required.
  • Flexible and positive attitude.
  • Dedicated use of a CRM program.
