Position DescriptionJob SummaryTheSales Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the sales team to achieve sales targets, develop strategic sales plans, develop sales personnel, and cultivate strong relationships with key customers. This role requires a results-driven individual with excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills. The Sales Manager will play a crucial role in driving the company's revenue growth and expanding its market presence.
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership and Team Development & Management:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets. Work with salespeople to ensure every seller "has a plan to make their plan".
- Provide active and frequent sales coaching to the team to develop abilities of the team in three broad areas
- Pipeline coaching - maintaining robust pipelines-mix of early, mid, late-stage opportunities, ensuring pipeline velocity, selecting and developing high quality opportunities, steady flow of wins
- Opportunity coaching -defining next steps, navigating the customer buying process and customer organization, maintaining deal momentum, closing
- Needs based selling - discovering opportunities, matching our offering to customer opportunities, defining the business value of our offering, differentiating vs the next best alternative
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and development opportunities.
- Develop and implement rapid ramp up strategies for new sales employees.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to achieve company objectives - monthly, quarterly and yearly.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
- Set sales targets and KPIs, and monitor performance against goals as aligned to the Company's Annual Operating Plan.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and develop new business.
- Provide support to sales team for large customers
- Sales Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day sales operations, ensuring efficient processes and workflows.
- Continuously improve SFDC workflows and team usage of SFDC- transition from "SFDC as management reporting tool to " SFDC as valuable tool for salespeople to manage and win a complex opportunity portfolio"
- Collaborate with other departments to support sales initiatives.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Market and Product Knowledge:
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors.
- Continuously update knowledge of company products/services and their competitive advantages.
- Provide feedback to the product development team on customer needs and preferences.
Position RequirementsQualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Strong leadership and team management skills. Proven ability to coach and develop. We are looking for a coach versus a super-seller.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
- Proficiency in Sales Force software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Routine travel required
