Full Job Description
The role is for a Sales Engineer for Elessent Clean Technologies' MECS replacement business in Mexico, the Caribbean region, and selected customers in the United States. The primary areas are emission reduction and sulfuric acid production. Current solutions include sulfuric acid technology for the metallurgical and fertilizer markets, spent acid regeneration for sulfuric acid, as well as acid plant-integrated energy generation and scrubbing solutions. Current products and technology sold in the sulfuric acid aftermarket space include sulfuric acid catalysts, mist eliminators, alloy-based equipment such as acid coolers, heat exchangers, converters, piping, etc.

The function of technical sales requires an understanding of Spent acid regeneration, fertilizer, and metallurgical processes, and knowledge of sulfuric acid technology and products. Additionally, a broad understanding of scrubbing and associated energy production processes is necessary to determine the level and value of the business opportunity. The ability to apply technical research competencies to market analysis and research tasks is an added benefit. Business development also requires the ability to translate technical solutions into technical proposals to support the creation of value propositions for clients.

Critical to success attributes of the sales engineer are a can-do attitude, strong customer orientation and relationship creation, and the ability to understand and predict customer needs. The sales engineer will work with a sales representative who will be required to execute a high-touch customer model for all the accounts in his or her territory, maintaining a solid interface with the technical services team as well as the business (product managers, licensing managers, proposal engineers, etc.). The ultimate measure of the sales engineer function is the reliable generation of sales, maximizing the customer experience, creating a loyal customer base that considers Elessent Clean Technologies a partner in performance.

Qualifications:
  • BS in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 0-5 yrs experience Chemical or Mechanical Engineer residing in the US,
  • Required to be fluent in Spanish.

  • Demonstrates strong sales acumen and high customer orientation or potential/interest to develop this capability
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate with impact and influence cross-functional teams.

Additional Qualifications:
  • Travel will be required to customer sites in the USC and LATAM (~70% +)
  • United States-Missouri-St. Louis or Houston, TX (working remotely)
