Full Job Description
Summary

We are looking for a Sales Engineer to join our team to work with our channel and enterprise sales teams to continue our tremendous success positioning SENS' line of power products & systems to solve customer challenges. In addition to possessing engineering excellence and understanding of mission critical DC and AC power systems, this individual will display exceptional conversation skills and situational awareness to assist with customer discovery calls to fully understand their challenges and the specific problems customers are trying to solve. This person will then collaborate with the sales team to conceive, design, and configure the appropriate combination of SENS' products to solve the customer problem and assist in the presentation of the solution to the prospective client. The successful candidate will artfully blend engineering theory and real-world practicality to build impactful solutions that reflect customer needs, space and time constraints, and other variables as identified.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a deep understanding of SENS' products/systems including several case studies.
  • Participate in Customer Discovery calls.
  • Fully understand customer business and technical challenges.
  • Specify the best solution to solve customer problems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and product development teams to create customized or highly configured solutions that meet client specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews and ensure that proposed solutions align with client requirements and company capabilities.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, webinars, and training sessions to educate customers and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Assist Sales teams in presenting solutions and answering technical questions.
  • Proactively seek to position oneself in key accounts as peer-to-peer resources to technical and engineering teams.
  • Act as a lifecycle resource to key accounts and behave as 'an extension' of their team, with an eye always open to how future SENS' solutions can be impactfully positioned.
  • Act as liaison between SENS Sales team and Product Engineering team to ensure alignment and that engineered solutions are properly understood and presented by the sales teams.
  • Help conceive and deliver technical training to the SENS sales organization.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive products, and customer feedback to inform product development and sales strategies.
  • Collaborate as needed with the Marketing team to provide expert guidance related to technical positioning statements and other content intended for use in digital marketing programs.
  • Help create future case studies based on personal wins/experiences at SENS.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working in or with a sales organization in a customer facing capacity.
  • Strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings, trade shows, and conferences (up to 40%).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with mission critical energy storage systems, power conversion technologies, low voltage AC and DC power distribution, and batteries.


Location: This position is located in Longmont, CO with the ability to work a hybrid schedule once fully trained.

Base Compensation: Compensation for this role includes base pay plus variable pay (commission) for a total on-target earnings (OTE). OTE is calculated as the annual base salary plus the projected annual commission at 100% quota attainment. The base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000 with the opportunity to earn variable commission at 100% quota attainment for a total on-target earnings (OTE) range of $138,000 - $150,000.

Closing Date: 10/19. While we expect to keep the position open through this date, the posting may be extended or closed early based on applicant volume and hiring needs.
