Job Description

Role Summary

This role is the technical bridge between our Environmental Simulation Lab (ESL) operations and our sales organization across the East Region and the broader network. It combines hands-on environmental simulation expertise, equipment and capital strategy, and client-facing technical sales. The person in this role recovers and optimizes ESL capability, grows commercial environmental simulation revenue in segments such as NEBS, Marine, and Medical, supports the growth of the MIL-STD-810 vertical alongside dedicated lab management and subject matter resources, and connects capacity across our Littleton and Baltimore labs. This is a growth and turnaround role built for someone who can quote programs, interface directly with technical clients, get equipment online with their own hands, and balance work across a multi-site network.

Responsibilities

Technical Sales and Applications
  • Receive RFQs from the national network of sales representatives and respond quickly with scoping questions and the information needed to quote accurately.
  • Develop detailed environmental simulation test plans and scope custom programs for commercial and defense clients.
  • Generate accurate cost estimates for environmental simulation and related electrical and mechanical performance evaluations.
  • Manage the technical aspects of RFQs from intake through quotation and close, in partnership with sales executives.
  • Revive dormant accounts, prospect target accounts, and support solution selling into the existing base.
  • Create and deliver client-facing technical presentations tailored to program needs.
  • Represent the labs at trade shows and industry events, and collect and document competitive intelligence.

Environmental Simulation Delivery and Operations Support
  • Recover, commission, and optimize environmental simulation equipment to bring capability online and keep it productive.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support to lab teams, including direct equipment work.
  • Provide bridge operational and technical support to the Baltimore ESL through scheduled on-site visits while permanent lab management is established.
  • Mentor and assist lab staff and project coordinators during on-site time.
  • Design or specify custom test fixtures for environmental applications and coordinate fabrication with internal teams or vendors when required.
  • Define, lead and run tests using various ESL test equipment.
  • Cross-train in other disciplines and standards as appropriate.

Network Capacity and Capital Strategy
  • Assess equipment and capability across network labs and identify opportunities to complement sites and balance capacity.
  • Build the technical case for capital investment driven by market opportunity, including items such as a MIL-compliant shaker at Baltimore and equipment relocations between sites.
  • Support a coordinated ESL corridor connecting Massachusetts, Baltimore, and the broader network.
  • Partner with lab general managers and sales leadership on service expansion, new offerings, and scaling.

Qualifications
  • Hands-on environmental simulation experience across multiple simulation types, with demonstrated strength in commercial segments such as NEBS, Marine, and Medical. MIL-STD-810 experience is valued, with room to grow the vertical alongside dedicated subject matter resources.
  • Leadership or senior technical experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry.
  • Proven ability to recover and commission test equipment and troubleshoot hardware directly.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen with a client-facing, solution-selling orientation.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical or mechanical preferred), or an associate degree with relevant experience.
  • Eligible to access ITAR-controlled technical data as a US Person (US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident), without restriction or sponsorship.
  • Willing and able to travel regularly to Baltimore and periodically to other network locations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

Physical Demands
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds and work hands-on with test equipment.
  • Able to sit and stand for extended periods.

This is a high-visibility role requiring close interaction with sales, engineering, and project coordination teams. The candidate must communicate effectively across all levels of management and staff, work well independently with minimal supervision, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
