Full Job Description
Summary: The Sales Director (Cabinets) will be responsible for driving the growth and development of MSI's cabinet business within the assigned market. Initially, this position will operate as an individual contributor, focused on building the business, establishing the market, developing customer relationships, and driving revenue. As the business grows, this individual will be expected to build and lead a team of approximately 2-3 Sales Representatives over the next 1-3 years. The ideal candidate will have proven experience selling cabinets to dealers, commercial customers, and multifamily contractors, along with a strong track record of developing new business and driving sales growth.

Work Hours: Monday to Friday from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow MSI's cabinet business, drive revenue, and achieve sales targets and objectives within the assigned market.
  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities with cabinet dealers, commercial customers, multifamily contractors, builders, developers, and other key industry partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to drive long-term revenue growth and expand MSI's market presence.
  • Initially operate as a hands-on individual contributor responsible for prospecting, customer development, sales presentations, negotiations, and closing new business.
  • Establish and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities and consistently work toward achieving sales and revenue objectives.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the local cabinet market, including customer needs, competitors, pricing, products, and market trends.
  • Identify opportunities to expand MSI's cabinet customer base and market share through strategic business development and relationship building.
  • Partner with internal sales, operations, product, and other cross-functional teams to ensure strong execution and customer support for new and existing accounts.
  • Track sales activity, pipeline development, revenue performance, and market opportunities, and provide regular updates and forecasts to management.
  • As the business expands, recruit, onboard, develop, and lead a team of approximately 2-3 Sales Representatives over the next 1-3 years.
  • Set clear sales goals, expectations, territories, and performance standards for the future sales team and coach team members to drive accountability and achieve sales objectives.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to enhance brand visibility, develop customer relationships, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Stay informed about cabinet industry trends, competitor activities, pricing, and market developments to identify opportunities and potential challenges and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including modifying and manipulating Excel spreadsheets, creating PowerPoint presentations, and using Outlook email and calendaring systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to review, analyze, and summarize sales and market reports to identify trends, sales potential, and measure success.
  • Travel up to 80% locally, with occasional national and international travel.
  • Perform additional duties as required and or requested.

Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of sales experience in the cabinet industry required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Demonstrated success selling cabinets to dealers, commercial customers, and multifamily contractors.
  • Strong track record of developing new business, building territories or markets, and generating revenue in a competitive sales environment.
  • Deep understanding of the cabinet industry, customer channels, competitive landscape, and sales cycle.
  • Ability and willingness to operate as a hands-on individual contributor during the initial growth phase of the business.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with the ability to transition from individual contributor to building, developing, and leading a sales team.
  • Strong prospecting, negotiation, presentation, closing, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute sales strategies independently, with strong business acumen and accountability for results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
