Sales Compensation Specialist

We are currently seeking a highly driven Sales Compensation Specialist to join our operations in the United States.

The Sales Compensation Specialist administers and analyzes sales compensation programs, supporting both the accurate day-to-day execution of payouts and the design and improvement of compensation plans. This role owns tactical compensation operations independently while contributing to plan modeling, reporting, and governance under the direction of senior team members and Sales Leadership. The Specialist serves as a reliable point of contact for compensation questions from sales, finance, and HR partners, and is expected to grow into broader plan-design and cross-functional responsibility over time.

Performance Objectives

Payout Processing & Data Integrity
  • Calculate and process monthly/quarterly commission payouts accurately and on schedule.
  • Own day-to-day data execution and auditing within the sales compensation system, identifying and escalating discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Support resolution of compensation disputes with clear, professional documentation.
  • Help ensure payouts comply with plan rules and support internal audit and compliance requests.

Compensation Plan Support
  • Assist in the design, modeling, and rollout of annual and mid-year sales compensation plans under the direction of senior analysts and leadership.
  • Analyze quota attainment, performance trends, and plan effectiveness, and recommend refinements.
  • Maintain compensation plan documentation, summaries, and supporting materials (e.g., bonus plans, calculators).

Reporting & Analysis
  • Build and maintain attainment tracking, payout, and cost dashboards.
  • Ensure data accuracy and completeness within the incentive compensation system (e.g., CaptivateIQ).
  • Translate compensation data into clear, well-organized analysis for management use.

Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with sales, finance, and HR partners on day-to-day compensation matters.
  • Partner with senior analysts and Sales Leadership on cross-functional projects and process improvements.
  • Maintain the highest level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive compensation data.

Competitive Candidate Profile

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in sales compensation, sales operations, financial analysis, or a related role.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and formula-based modeling.
  • Experience with a CRM (Salesforce preferred) and working knowledge of an ICM platform (e.g., CaptivateIQ, Xactly, Varicent, Performio).
  • Ability to manage moderately complex data sets with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain compensation topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision, while knowing when to escalate.

Preferred
  • Experience supporting an Enterprise or SaaS go-to-market organization.
  • Familiarity with quota setting, territory planning, or broader sales operations processes.
  • Familiarity with AI tools used for data analysis or reporting.
