Responsibilities

The Sales and Incentive Compensation Data Analyst supports the administration of advisor and sales compensation programs by ensuring accurate data collection, validation, and processing. This role is responsible for gathering and posting compensation-related data, reviewing it against plan rules, and maintaining data integrity across systems.

This position is ideal for someone early in their career who is building foundational analytical skills while developing an understanding of financial services compensation plans, including commissions, fees, and incentive structures.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $60,000/yr - $121,300/yr plus bonus. The base salary indicated for this position reflects the compensation range applicable to all levels of the role across the United States. Actual salary offers within this range may vary based on a number of factors, including the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate's relevant skills and professional experience, educational qualifications, and geographic location.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Collection, Review, and Posting
  • Gather sales, production, and revenue data from systems such as CRM platforms, Trust Desk, LPL, Tamarac, and internal financial reports
  • Review data for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with expected results
  • Perform foundational data validations and escalate discrepancies when identified
  • Post and upload validated data into compensation and tracking systems
  • Support recurring data cycles tied to advisor compensation (monthly/quarterly payouts)

Incentive Compensation Management and Processing
  • Calculate advisor compensation, including commissions, fees, and incentive payouts
  • Follow defined compensation plan rules and documented procedures
  • Support reconciliation processes to confirm data inputs match compensation outputs
  • Help investigate and resolve basic compensation or data discrepancies

Plan Documents & Data Source Understanding
  • Build a working knowledge of compensation plan documents, including payout grids, eligibility rules, and crediting logic
  • Understand key components such as production credits, assets under management (AUM), and revenue-based compensation
  • Learn how data flows from source systems into compensation calculations
  • Ensure data used aligns with plan definitions and business rules

Reporting & Foundational Analysis
  • Produce recurring reports related to advisor production, payouts, and performance tracking
  • Maintain and update standard reporting templates and dashboards
  • Identify obvious inconsistencies or unusual trends and escalate appropriately
  • Gradually develop stronger analytical capabilities over time

Systems & Process Support
  • Maintain accurate records in systems such as Salesforce, Excel-based tools, and compensation platforms
  • Follow established procedures for data updates, corrections, and audit tracking
  • Document processes and assist in improving data workflows

Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work with Sales Operations, Finance, and Compensation teams to ensure data accuracy
  • Respond to sales inquiries about compensation calculations and disputes
  • Communicate plan details and analytics findings to non-technical stakeholders

Other
  • Partner with sales leadership and HR to analyze special offers and draft offer letter language.
  • Work with the Divisional CFO to budget, forecast, validate, adjust, and reconcile variable compensation accruals.
  • Track and evaluate special offers; forecast budget impacts and notify sales leadership and HR of required updates to draws, grids, and other incentive programs.
  • Develop and maintain budget and forecast models for LPL revenue.
  • Support annual peer reviews and audit requests related to variable compensation, LPL revenue, and AUM.

Education:
  • BA Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Analytics, or related field
