The primary role of the St. Louis Municipal Team Lead is to manage a team delivering transportation projects for municipalities and local agencies in the St. Louis region. Additionally, this position will build upon existing and new relationships with clients, identify project opportunities, develop win strategy, recruit staff, and manage some of the key municipal transportation projects within the St. Louis Transportation Business Group team. The St. Louis Municipal Team Lead will play a key role in mentoring and providing technical quality and client satisfaction oversight for our growing St. Louis team. The role will also include routine communication with clients, relationship building with sub-consultant partners, and enhancing HDR participation in professional societies such as APWA.
An existing demonstrated track record with St. Louis area city/county agencies is vital to the success of this role. The ideal candidate brings experience with concept/feasibility studies, design services during construction, collaborating with traffic, storm drainage, structures, permitting, utilities, and multi-modal team members. Experience supervising a medium-sized team of professionals is beneficial. Marketing and business development experience including interviewing and contract negotiations are desired skills.

- PE license in Missouri and Kansas
- 7+ years of experience in municipal transportation design
- Business development and marketing experience
- Experience with municipal clients in eastern Missouri/St. Louis Region
- Experience supervising the work of a project team as a Project Manager
- Experience mentoring junior staff
- Experience using MicroStation, Geopak, and/or InRoads design software in version SS2, SS4, and/or CONNECT
- MS Office
- Document control experience (ProjectWise a plus)
- Project Management experience
- Excellent marketing experience preferred.
- Prior consulting experience is a positive but not required.
- Career history in the St. Louis region is preferred.
