Full Job Description
The Transportation Safety Supervisor is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety programs to promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position oversees driver safety performance, accident investigations, regulatory compliance, training initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts to minimize risk and support operational excellence. They will also be responsible for overseeing safety programs related to electric vehicle operations, high-voltage systems, batteries, and charging infrastructure. Compensation: • $36.00 - $43.00 / Hour Benefits: • Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance • 401(k) Retirement Plan with Company Match • Paid Time Off (PTO) accrues in accordance with company policy and may be used for vacation, personal, or sick time. Team Members are eligible to accrue up to 80 hours (10 days) of PTO annually, with increased accrual opportunities based on years of service. • One paid personal day annually. 8 hours for full-time Team Members and 4 hours for part-time Team Members. • Seven Company-Observed Holidays. Full-time non-exempt Team Members receive eight hours of holiday pay and part-time non-exempt Team Members receive four hours of holiday pay for eligible holidays. Key Focus Areas: • Monitor compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT), OSHA, FMCSA, and other applicable regulatory requirements. • Safety training, compliance and safe work practices • Incident prevention, root-cause analysis, and corrective action • Some High-voltage system safety Responsibilities: • Support Transportation safety initiatives and programs. • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable safety regulations. • Support safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments. • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions. • Deliver safety training and support team member competency development. • Maintain safety documentation, records, and reporting requirements. • Support emergency preparedness and response activities. • Partner with Fleet, Maintenance, Operations, and Facilities to identify safety risks and support safe daily operations. • Monitor infrastructure safety, including inspection readiness, signage, access control, and safe use of charging equipment. • Lead root-cause analysis for safety incidents, near misses, and equipment concerns. • Support rollout of new vehicles, including EVs, tools, and equipment by reviewing safety impacts and identifying training needs. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements: • 2+ years of experience in Transportation and have an understanding of Safety regulations • Knowledge of workplace safety principles, risk management, and regulatory compliance. • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. • CDL A or B License • Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety standards, and high-voltage safety practices. • Ability to interpret safety regulations, technical manuals, SDS information, and manufacturer guidance. • Experience creating or delivering safety training, toolbox talks, or standard operating procedures. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in safety management, industrial operations, automotive, EV, manufacturing, or related environments preferred. • Experience with electric vehicles. • Professional safety certifications (e.g., CSP, OHST, NFPA 70E). • Experience leading safety programs in operational or technical environments. • Knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA standards, DOT/FMCSA safety requirements, or similar regulatory frameworks. • Experience working in the transportation industry preferred
