Full Job Description
Overview

As a Self-Perform Safety Manager at Danis, you’ll lead safety efforts with a strong focus on our self-perform teams and field operations. You’ll work directly alongside crews, Superintendents, and project teams to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and with a culture that prioritizes people over process.

This is a hands-on, field-driven leadership role where safety isn’t just about compliance—it’s about coaching, problem-solving, and actively supporting the work as it happens. You’ll play a key role in helping our teams execute complex projects while maintaining a safe and accountable jobsite.

At Danis, we’re committed to developing leaders who can make a lasting impact. Through Danis University, mentorship, and real project exposure, you’ll continue to grow your leadership and technical expertise.

Responsibilities What You’ll Do

Field Safety Leadership

  • Lead safety efforts across active jobsites with a strong focus on self-perform crews and field operations
  • Maintain a consistent presence in the field, working directly alongside crews to identify risks and provide real-time solutions
  • Coach teams on safe work practices, reinforcing expectations through hands-on engagement and daily interaction
  • Support Superintendents and field leaders in building and maintaining a strong safety culture

Planning & Risk Management

  • Partner early with project teams during preconstruction and planning to identify risks and influence how work is executed
  • Facilitate pre-task and pre-job safety planning for self-perform scopes and project activities
  • Help develop and implement jobsite-specific safety programs tailored to each project’s needs

Audits, Investigations & Compliance

  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and project requirements
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
  • Maintain clear and accurate safety documentation across projects

Training & Development

  • Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and ongoing education focused on practical application—not just policy
  • Identify training needs based on field conditions, trends, and observed risks
  • Mentor junior safety staff and support development across field teams

Communication & Collaboration

  • Serve as a key liaison between field teams, project leadership, and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, and self-perform leadership to align safety with execution
  • Contribute to company-wide safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
