Safety Manager - Prism Electric

The Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing Prism's safety program for an assigned branch, division, or market sector. This position provides proactive support to project teams, field leadership, and management to successfully implement Prism's safety program, processes, and procedures.

The Safety Manager will oversee safety compliance, training, injury management, driver safety, safety personnel, reporting, and overall safety performance within their area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee Prism safety processes, programs, and procedures across the assigned branch, division, or market sector.
  • Proactively support project teams and management in the successful implementation of Prism's safety program.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, Prism safety policies, and applicable project requirements.
  • Oversee the safety training program and maintain required training records.
  • Develop, communicate, coordinate, and conduct safety training related to OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate safety training and safety initiatives with supervisors, project leadership, and management.
  • Maintain injury and incident records, including required OSHA documentation and OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs.
  • Manage the injury and Return-to-Work (RTW) program within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Partner with Human Resources regarding workplace injuries, workers' compensation matters, injury reporting, and return-to-work activities.
  • Manage and support the company's Driver Safety Program.
  • Conduct and/or oversee jobsite safety inspections, document findings, and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
  • Perform jobsite safety and exposure analyses and assist with establishing safe work procedures.
  • Lead or support accident, injury, incident, and near-miss investigations and ensure appropriate documentation and corrective action.
  • Implement and maintain required safety documentation, including accident reports, inspection reports, training records, and related safety documentation.
  • Support and provide direction to subordinate safety staff within the assigned area.
  • Implement new or updated safety programs at branches, projects, or designated locations as required.
  • Administer applicable components of the company's substance-abuse program, including drug and alcohol testing.
  • Track and report safety KPIs, incidents, trends, and overall safety performance to branch, division, or market-sector management.
  • Work closely with operations and field leadership to identify safety risks and proactively address potential exposures.
  • Promote consistent implementation and accountability for Prism's safety program throughout the assigned area.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a safety role, preferably within construction or a related industry.
  • Candidates with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or a related discipline may substitute education for experience, with approximately 2-4 years of applicable safety experience.
  • OSHA 500 required.
  • CHST, CSHO, or similar professional safety certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
  • Experience overseeing safety programs, training, incident management, and regulatory documentation.
  • Experience with injury management and Return-to-Work programs.
  • Ability to support and provide direction to safety personnel.
  • Proven people-management, process-management, and performance-management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with field employees, project management, and branch/division leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
