Job Title: Safety and Continuous Improvement Manager

Location: Beaumont and Houston, Texas

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Safety and Continuous Improvement Manager to join our operations team. This vital role will champion our "Goal Zero" safety culture across our multi-location fabrication facilities in Beaumont and Houston, Texas. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, enforcing, and standardizing safety programs, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Safety Leadership:
    • Champion our "Goal Zero" Safety Culture, fostering a proactive safety mindset among all employees.
    • Develop, implement, and standardize safety programs across both locations.
    • Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to share best practices and reinforce safety protocols.
    • Perform risk assessments, site inspections, and incident investigations, ensuring thorough documentation and reporting.
    • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA CFR 1926, Stormwater, and VOC monitoring.
    • Stay abreast of industry best practices and regulatory changes, updating safety policies and procedures accordingly.
    • Act as a safety advocate, providing guidance and support to employees on safety-related concerns.
    • Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to safety in all actions and decisions.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Conduct 6S audits to identify areas for improvement in workplace organization and efficiency.
    • Analyze operational processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Develop and implement solutions to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational effectiveness.
    • Lead and support continuous improvement projects, utilizing Lean Manufacturing and other process improvement methodologies.
    • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of continuous improvement initiatives.

Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Safety Manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations, particularly CFR 1926.
  • Experience implementing and managing safety programs in a multi-location setting.
  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
