Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in managing safety for large construction projects, especially in healthcare or industrial sectors.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• OSHA 500 certification is mandatory.
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred, enhancing communication with diverse teams.
• Proven ability to administer safety orientations and oversee safety programs.
• Solid experience in collaborating with various construction stakeholders including management and subcontractors.
• Strong communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and discuss safety initiatives with on-site subcontractors and McCarthy employees.
• Conduct safety and health inspections at least twice monthly and coordinate compliance with insurance requirements.
• Ensure the use of necessary protective equipment and availability of first aid materials on-site.
• Investigate injuries and coordinate corrective measures with the team for OSHA logging.
• Minimize hazards by enforcing safety policies through the disciplinary system.
• Lead weekly Project Safety 'Toolbox' meetings for all McCarthy employees.
• Document and submit all safety-related correspondence and inspections to the Regional Safety Director for record-keeping.
