Safety Manager

As a Safety Manager at C.A. Murren and Sons, you will be considered an important part of the team as you bring your expertise in meeting organizational Safety objectives. You will oversee the Safety processes ensuring standards are consistent and met. As a Safety Manager, you are expected to manage resources efficiently using tools, personnel and budgets, aligning the Safety team toward the common Safety goals and resolving process-related issues in a timely manner.

C.A. Murren and Sons is seeking a Safety Manager who will support project teams by overseeing safety processes and procedures to ensure successful completion of construction projects. This position works with Foremen, Superintendents, Project Engineers, and Project Managers to ensure safety compliance, safety enforcement, and safety collaboration. The Safety Manager is responsible for training and educating team members and driving the Company's safety culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through personal actions and mentoring others.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts project site inspections and comprehensive safety assessments as needed to monitor progress and support project team members. Intervenes as needed to address and resolve issues and problems, and recommend, approves, and implements modifications to the project as needed.
  • Provides training and education to company personnel regarding safety requirements and recommends advancements.
  • Coordinates project safety programs. Assists in planning and coordinating work to minimize risks and aggressively manage losses involving injuries or property damages.
  • Participates in inspections, incidents, and near miss investigations.
  • Completes accident investigations and root cause analysis and provides reports to the leadership team.
  • Identifies and analyzes risks and hazards on project sites and builds a plan to mitigate these risks and hazards in future.
  • Coordinates, schedules, and provides safety training on project sites and in regional offices. Assists in developing the project safety training schedule.
  • Oversees compliance with the Company's safety standards.
  • Communicates with leadership team to provide updates on the status of projects, addresses concerns, and plans specific actions as needed to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Provides regular updates to the Safety Director.
  • Provide leadership to employees and management on health and safety strategy.
  • Keeping up to date on relevant health and safety developments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, establish priorities, and accomplish goals and objectives.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
  • CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) Certification preferred
  • 10-15 years of experience in the construction (industrial or civil preferred) safety field
  • Certifications in Root Cause Analysis, Blue Dragon, Fishbone, 6 whys, etc. preferred.
  • Travel will be required for up to 4-5 days per week.
  • OSHA 500, 510 REQUIRED
  • First Aid, CPR, AED instructor or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Highly knowledgeable in Excavations, Confined Space Entry, Traffic Control, Respirable Crystalline Silica, Rigging, Heavy Equipment Operations and Fall Protection.
  • Self-motivated, Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Participation in pre-employment and random drug screening program
  • Subject to background screening
