Summary:Join our team as a Safety Manager, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees. This full-time position offers the opportunity for growth and development in a dynamic work environment. Ensures safety program is designed to comply with all safety regulations including OSHA, federal, state, and local laws and other construction industry standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:Communicates the Company's safety vision and values of the Company with team members to ensure understanding, compliance and acceptance of the Company's safety programs and policies.
- Compiles accident statistics, trending analysis and recommends changes.
- Manages regular safety audits of construction projects. Identifies and documents hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions. Makes recommendations for corrective action. Follows up with reports to the management team addressing issues.
- Ensures safety & health training meets the needs of the company and regulating entities so team members have the safety training to safely perform tasks and jobs.
- Leads incident investigations to include interviews, photographs and completing proper documentation.
- Works closely with the external insurance company contacts in reporting and managing safety-related claims.
- Implement and monitor GPS fleet tracking system.
- Develops annual plans & budgets for safety & health initiatives, including training.
Manages safety incentive programs which reward targeted behaviors & results.
- Manages workers comp & vehicle claims.
- Manages return to work/restricted duty program.
- Establishes and leads Safety Committee.
- Manages administration of motor vehicle records program.
The employee is also expected to perform other duties and functions as required from time to time.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in environmental health & safety, safety management, construction or related field.
- OSHA 500, CSP certification preferable.
- Minimum 5 years experience in construction industry safety management.
- Excellent knowledge of construction related OSHA, federal, state, and local regulatory standards, and apply them to conditions at job site.
- Experience managing staff and third party hired firms.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Skilled at making verbal and written presentations and communicating with others.
- Has working knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office
- Must have a valid Arizona driver license.
Working Conditions- Extensive travel by vehicle.
- Work is conducted in both indoor office settings, and outdoor constructions jobsite settings.
* Ability to work in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold
- Noise level varies based on location.
* Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required
Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit for long periods of time, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and telephone. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
Light to moderate lifting is required.
