Position Overview

This position is posted for contractor conversion purposes for a Safety Engineer Sr.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve, health and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence
  • Conduct routine safety audits and workplace inspections, identifying risks and driving corrective actions through closure
  • Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and ensure effective preventive measures are implemented
  • Partner closely with production, maintenance, and medical teams to support safe and efficient operations
  • Deliver engaging training on emergency response, hazardous materials handling, and safety procedures across all levels of the organization
  • Serve as a point of contact with external regulatory agencies as needed
  • Support workers’ compensation case coordination and reporting activities
  • Monitor industrial hygiene and occupational health programs to ensure ongoing compliance and risk reduction
  • Recommend and track corrective actions for identified health and safety hazards
  • Contribute to project-based initiatives requiring independent judgment and technical health and safety expertise
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of environmental health, fire safety or safety experience

OR

  • Master's degree and no experience

OR

  • At least 3 years of environmental health, fire safety or safety experience
