Position OverviewThis position is posted for contractor conversion purposes for a Safety Engineer Sr.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve, health and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence
- Conduct routine safety audits and workplace inspections, identifying risks and driving corrective actions through closure
- Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and ensure effective preventive measures are implemented
- Partner closely with production, maintenance, and medical teams to support safe and efficient operations
- Deliver engaging training on emergency response, hazardous materials handling, and safety procedures across all levels of the organization
- Serve as a point of contact with external regulatory agencies as needed
- Support workers’ compensation case coordination and reporting activities
- Monitor industrial hygiene and occupational health programs to ensure ongoing compliance and risk reduction
- Recommend and track corrective actions for identified health and safety hazards
- Contribute to project-based initiatives requiring independent judgment and technical health and safety expertise
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of environmental health, fire safety or safety experience
OR
- Master's degree and no experience
OR
- At least 3 years of environmental health, fire safety or safety experience

- Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
- Strong working knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards (federal, state, and local)
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or similarly regulated environments
- Proven ability to conduct investigations, analyze findings, and implement effective corrective actions
- Strong communication and training skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization
- Ability to build effective working relationships across operations, engineering, and support functions
- Sound judgment with the ability to operate independently within defined procedures and policies
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Familiarity with industrial hygiene principles and workers’ compensation processes is highly preferred
