Join our team as a Safety EHS Manager, and be a part of our journey towards excellence and success!

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Safety / EHS Manager to support a large-scale, mission-critical data center construction project in Sparks, NV. This person will lead and manage the company's EHS program to ensure a safe workplace, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in environmental and occupational health performance. Develop site policies, provide training, perform risk assessments, investigate incidents, and drive corrective actions across facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs aligned with federal, state, and local regulations (NV OSHA, etc.).
  • Conduct regular site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits; identify risk trends and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations, prepare root-cause analyses, and implement corrective action plans; maintain incident tracking and reporting.
  • Manage permits, and recordkeeping (incident logs, training records).
  • Develop, deliver, and track EHS training programs (new hire orientation, PPE, lockout/tagout, confined space, forklift, HAZCOM, emergency response).
  • Oversee emergency response planning and drills (fire, spill, evacuation); coordinate with GC and local authorities as needed.
  • Maintain and promote PPE programs, machine guarding, ergonomics, and behavioral safety initiatives.
  • Support contractor safety management; ensure compliance with company standards and contractual requirements.
  • Lead workplace ergonomics assessments and initiatives to reduce injuries and workers' compensation costs.
  • Monitor EHS performance metrics; prepare and present reports and dashboards for leadership.
  • Manage environmental programs including waste management, recycling, spill prevention, and pollution prevention initiatives.
  • Support the project and process changes with safety reviews (pre-startup safety reviews, design reviews, risk assessments).
  • Mentor and advise site supervisors and employees on safe work practices; cultivate a positive safety culture.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment; 3+ years in a supervisory or lead role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and best practices.
  • Experience with incident investigation (root cause analysis), risk assessment tools (JSA/JHA/PTP, HAZOP), and behavior-based safety.
  • Proficiency with EHS management systems (ISO 45001/ISO 14001) a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; able to influence at all levels.
  • Proficient with MS Office; experience with EHS software systems preferred.

Required Certifications:
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
  • OSHA 30-hour card (within the last 5 years)
  • CPR and First Aid certification

Working Conditions:
  • Onsite presence required.
  • Work in manufacturing/industrial/construction environments with typical exposure to noise, moving equipment, chemicals, and confined spaces-PPE required.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work during emergencies, audits, or training.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk facility floors, climb ladders and stairs, access elevated areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Visual acuity for inspections and reviewing documentation.

Performance Metrics:
  • Injury/illness rates Task Safety Observation Cards, near-miss reporting frequency, audit/inspection closure rate, training completion, regulatory compliance status, corrective action closure time.
