Full Job Description
SAFETY DIRECTORLocation - ATLANTA, GAPAY RATE: $90-95/HR
TYPICAL DUTIES• Conduct jobsite audits, hazard analyses, and detailed assessments of ongoing construction activities.• Evaluate subcontractor safety plans and verify they meet company and contract standards.• Lead companywide safety meetings and specialized safety workshops.• Provide timely safety performance reporting to executive leadership.• Oversee the review and approval of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), pre-task plans, and high-risk work procedures.• Collaborate with project leaders to develop site-specific safety strategies, especially for complex or high-risk scopes.• Implement systems to track safety metrics, leading indicators, and trends to drive continuous improvement.• Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies such as OSHA during inspections or investigations.• Ensure consistent application of safety policies across all divisions and project types.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS• Climb permanent and temporary stairs and ladders• Stand for long periods of time• Use of construction personnel hoist• Navigate active construction sites consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material• Use of vision, hands and fingers• Speak, hear, stoop/bend crouch• Lift/carry a minimum of 30 pounds• Be able to wear standard PPE, i.e. hard hats, safety vest, work boots, safety glasses/goggles
WORK ENVIRONMENT• Office and field environments with exposure to: Outdoor weather conditions Heavy machinery Loud noise Uneven ground, mud, and construction hazards• Frequent travel to project sites as required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS• Associate's degree or greater in Safety is preferred• High School diploma or GED required

Experience writing safety policies, procedures, and training materials.• Strong skills in communication, investigation, conflict resolution, and coaching.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain an acceptable MVR.DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS• Certified Safety Professional (CSP)• Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)• NFPA 70E Certified• OSHA 500 or OTI certified• HAZWOPER• Completion of Industrial Training International's Lift Director & Critical Lift Planning Course• First Aid / CPR / AED.
