Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction is looking for a Safety Area Manager to help lead and support safety efforts across heavy civil projects throughout the region. This is a hands-on, field-focused leadership role for someone who enjoys building relationships with crews, coaching field leadership, and helping drive a strong, proactive safety culture.

At RLW, safety is not viewed as a separate department - it is a key part of operations and project success. This role works closely with project teams, superintendents, and leadership to support safe execution across some of the West's most impactful infrastructure projects.

Position Description

What You'll Do

    • Support and help lead safety efforts across multiple heavy civil projects
    • Conduct site visits, audits, safety observations, and inspections
    • Partner with project teams to identify and mitigate jobsite risks
    • Coach field employees and leadership on safe work practices
    • Assist with incident investigations and corrective action plans
    • Help ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
    • Deliver and support safety training initiatives
    • Build strong relationships with crews, superintendents, and operations teams
    • Promote and reinforce a proactive, team-oriented safety culture


Position Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

    • OSHA 500/510 certifications
    • CHST, CSP, or other safety certifications
    • Experience supporting roadway, excavation, utility, concrete, or infrastructure projects
