Lanteris Space Systems is seeking a Safety and Mission Assurance Manager to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. This is a technical leadership position reporting to the VP Mission Assurance. You will provide senior technical leadership ensuring the contractual Mission Assurance Plan (MAP) is executed and implement on assigned Spacecraft Programs. Including that the design, performance, reliability, and quality meets the expectation of the customer.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive major quality issue closure to program schedule
  • Plan and execute Product Assurance (PA) activities on complex spacecraft programs
  • Provides senior representation for major spacecraft reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, FRR, etc); provide input to solutions during early stages of implementation and design to increase technical strength maximizing likelihood of mission success
  • Effectively manage cross functional Product Assurance team (e.g., Parts, Materials, Safety and Reliability Engineering) to deliver program PA requirements
  • Manage customer PA meetings and drive action item and NCR closure
  • Provides consultation to engineering organizations to ensure proposed technical solutions are consistent with Intuitive Machines and customer expectations.
  • Provide risk assessments for PA deliverables
  • Ensures implications of anomalies on one spacecraft (on ground or on orbit) are assessed and corrective actions implemented on assigned programs
  • SCQE (Spacecraft Quality Engineering) activities for assigned programs
  • Lead PA Improvement activities
  • Define and monitor SMA (Safety and Mission Assurance) costs for assigned programs


Skills:
  • Project Management
  • Customer Management and Communication Experience with Intuitive Machines Systems and MS tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Can demonstrate skill in risk identification and risk mitigation plans


Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance
  • BS in an engineering or STEM discipline. An additional four years of experience may be substituted for a degree
  • 15 years of related work experience
  • 15 years of experience in one of the following areas if no experience in Safety and Mission Assurance:
    • Spacecraft systems engineering, spacecraft architecture, and spacecraft operations
    • Space Environments, parts, materials, and processes
    • Electrical engineering design of power electronics, digital electronics
    • RF/Microwave Communication designs for spacecraft


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within California is: $151,000.00 - $251,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.

Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
