Job Description

Lead operations for Wesco Grid Services, overseeing large-scale and complex utility, data center, renewable, transmission, distribution and substation project support across customer locations, branches, yards and warehousing operations. Drive safe, reliable and cost-effective execution of project site services, customer-owned inventory management, kitting, packaging, logistics, supplier coordination, material staging, project-based billing support and service delivery. Partner with Grid Services commercial, technical sales, application engineering, supply chain, finance, IT and operations teams to scale capabilities, improve customer experience, expand service capacity, strengthen working capital performance and support grid modernization, electrification and critical infrastructure growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead multi-site Grid Services operations supporting utility, public power, contractor, renewable, data center and industrial customers, with accountability for safety, service levels, material readiness, project execution, cost productivity and working capital performance.
  • Build and execute standardized operating processes for project site services, warehousing-as-a-service, laydown yards, kitting, packaging, customer-owned inventory, storm response, logistics coordination and project closeout.
  • Partner with Grid Services leadership, business development, technical sales, application engineering, commercial apparatus, supply chain and finance teams to translate complex customer requirements into scalable operational plans for transmission, distribution, substation, medium-voltage, renewable and data center projects.
  • Drive Grid Services system and process readiness, including project-based purchasing, DS purchase order management, progress and services billing support, DDP capability alignment, reporting accuracy and off-system process reduction.
  • Develop talent, succession plans and early-career capabilities for Grid Services operations, project services and programs while reinforcing the Wesco Operating Model, continuous improvement, tiered daily management and safe, customer-focused execution.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree - Business Administration or related field required; Masters Degree preferred
  • 15 years of experience in operations, supply chain, project services, utility infrastructure, industrial distribution, construction logistics, manufacturing or advanced distribution
  • Experience leading multi-site operations and large-scale materials management programs, including project-based services, customer-dedicated warehousing, laydown yard operations, kitting/packaging and storm response
  • Demonstrated ability to support complex utility, transmission, distribution, substation, renewable, data center or high-voltage apparatus projects from planning through execution and closeout
  • Experience managing customer-owned inventory, engineered equipment, direct-ship purchasing, supplier coordination, milestone tracking, billing support and operational reporting
  • Experience leading process standardization, system conversions, operating model deployment, digital tool adoption, automation, kaizens, facility redesign, inventory controls, customer reporting, process maps and SOPs
  • LEAN manufacturing, Six Sigma, project management, services operations and/or distribution experience
  • Strong knowledge of business and leadership principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, project execution, production methods, and coordination of people, suppliers, customers and resources.
  • Ability to define, explain, teach and sustain operational policies, procedures, SOPs, capability assessments, customer onboarding requirements and associated practices.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasion and interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate with customers, suppliers, field teams, executive stakeholders and shared services partners.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills in a project-based, customer-responsive operating environment.
  • Strong computer, reporting and systems skills, including experience with ERP, CRM, warehouse management, inventory, purchasing, reporting and project tracking tools.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, leadership, flexibility and change management capability across matrixed commercial, technical, supply chain and operations teams.
  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time


This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.

For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
