Full Job Description

We're looking for a product-minded, inquisitive and inventive Rust Engineer to drive the development of the core of Carv's coaching across Android and iOS, and expand and maintain our backend infrastructure.

If you love building products that push the limits of what's possible with real-time experiences on constrained devices, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Own the Rust codebase from architecture to implementation
  • Maintain and scale our infrastructure on Google Cloud
  • Work closely with designers, product managers and skiers to build category defining coaching experiences
  • Implement real-time coaching features powered by AI and sensor data, and test these on the ski slope
  • Stay on top of industry trends and Rust advancements and adopt the latest best practices

What We're Looking For

  • A passionate skier, beginner skiers welcome
  • Commercial experience with Rust/go/C++ or similar languages in production
  • Relentless bias for action
  • Track-record of excelling in a small-team environment, even better if at a start-up

Why Join Carv?

  • Work on a game-changing product that combines AI, biomechanics, and coaching
  • Autonomy and impact-you'll be a key player in shaping the future of digital sports training
  • Opportunity to work from our Innsbruck office where you can ski with fully subsidised ski tickets

Logistics
In the office: 3 days per week on average
Relocation: We offer relocation assistance based on your circumstances
Core business hours: 8am-4pm Mountain Time
Flexibility and workload: You may occasionally need to work later depending on business needs, and busy periods may require early calls (around 7am) for UK overlap. Outside of that, we trust you to manage your own working times. On average we work ~50 hours per week.

Benefits
Life outside work: We're happy to flex around your daily life (e.g. childcare), and we actively encourage getting out to ski for an hour during the day if you can fit it around meetings and make the time up.

• Healthcare cover

• 401(k): 3% automatic contribution, plus 50% match on next 2%
Paid time off: 15 days PTO per year, plus 7 federal holidays.
Ski perks: A full season pass, plus an annual company offsite - a week's skiing in Europe with the team.
