What You'll Do

As the Rotating Equipment Warranty Service Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and strategic direction of the Motor Field Service Department.

Leadership & Operations
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of motor technicians and service professionals.
  • Manage service operations, including scheduling, workload planning, resource allocation, and performance management.
  • Establish departmental goals, operating procedures, and service standards.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and developing technical talent.
  • Create and manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, and operational forecasts.

Technical Expertise & Service Excellence
  • Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing AC and DC motors up to and exceeding 1,000 HP.
  • Support field technicians with complex technical issues encountered at customer sites.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Product Management teams to resolve technical challenges and improve product performance.
  • Analyze motor failures and identify root causes to improve reliability and customer outcomes.
  • Review repair reports, service documentation, and billing recommendations to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Customer & Warranty Management
  • Serve as a key escalation point for customer service, warranty, and technical support matters.
  • Evaluate warranty claims, repair recommendations, and customer reports to determine appropriate resolutions.
  • Build strong customer relationships through responsive communication and problem-solving.
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Service teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Continuous Improvement & Business Performance
  • Monitor service quality, operational efficiency, and financial results.
  • Review service pricing and approve exceptions when appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and revenue growth.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive market developments.
  • Collaborate with Toshiba Japan and internal stakeholders regarding repair policies, procedures, and product support initiatives.
  • Develop and oversee technical training programs for employees and customers.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Motor Technician, Service Technician, or related industrial motor service role.
  • 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or team management experience.
  • Strong experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing AC/DC motors, including large horsepower industrial motors (1,000+ HP).
  • Proven ability to identify, analyze, and resolve motor failures.
  • Experience with vibration analysis and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced technical service environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting industrial manufacturers, motors, generators, rotating equipment, or heavy industrial systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards, including:
    • NEMA
    • IEEE
    • UL
    • CE
  • Experience with warranty administration, service operations, and financial performance management.
