  • Accountable for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the ROCC department

What you will do

Role Overview:

The ROCC Manager will coordinate ROCC Specialists' shifts and manage the operational applications and development of new procedures and ensure the correct operations and remote control of EDPR NA wind farms. You will also be responsible for supporting the ROCC at all times and providing oversight in the Director's absence.

Main responsibilities:

  • Train shift personnel to properly perform their duties as ROCC Specialists
  • Develop and implement a shift schedule to meet the ROCC's 24x7 continuity requirement
  • Develop operating procedures to ensure ROCC's processes are uniformed and have continuity along with being compliant with NERC, ISO, and OEM requirements
  • Responsible for monitoring ROCC's compliance with applicable NERC Reliability Standards, including data preparation, data QA/QC, and on-time submission
  • Support ROCC Specialists during abnormal events resolution in accordance with standard safety practices in order to reestablish wind farms' normal operations
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of a reporting process for ROCC's performance and provide updates and recommendations for improvements to management
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of EDPR NA's electrical switching practices and direct switching operations at EDPR NA's facilities when necessary
  • Provide information and necessary support with tests to maintain SCADA functionalities
  • Develop and maintain a qualification process for all ROCC Operators including the periodic update of the associated aids
  • Ensure all internal and external databases and tools are maintained and properly updated to integrate new assets
  • Accountable for all applicable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) associated with the ROCC department
  • Maintain understanding of commercial practices as they relate to managing merchant power operation and scheduling

What are we looking for

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in a technical field, preferably in Electrical or Controls Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience performing operating processes in the wind industry using systems of control and supervision; or 8 years in operation and control of industrial processes
  • Have NERC Reliability Coordinator (preferred) and PJM Generator Operator certifications
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, EMS, and SCADA
  • Thorough understanding of the ISO requirements in the various locations the EDPR NA's portfolio with assets under ROCC's remote operation
  • Demonstrated successful project management skills
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise (Preferred)
